Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Many goats, safe paths, friendly hikers...Stop at Grotto Efra on the way back to the village. Sonogno is a beautiful village with loving hearts.

After seeing the wonderful torrent of the Verzasca Valley, you won't expect anything from the villages located further up, instead the valley opens up and upon reaching Sonogno you are amazed by so much beauty. Well-kept houses surrounded by green flat meadows. In 20' you can reach the Froda waterfall without effort (also possible with a wheelchair). Here anyone who wants can cross the stream and climb the path that leads to the little bridges in front of the waterfall, or sit in the shade on a bench and admire it from below. Truly a nice place.

At the far end of the roads of the village of Sonogna are the Froda Waterfall. It takes approx. 15 min. to walk from the central sqaure in Sonogna. There are two walkways - the paved on and a more requirering route adjacent to the mountains. The are stairs and a wooden pontoon which allows you to get a few meters from the foot of the waterfall.
The crystal clear water of The Froda Waterfall crashes into a ø50m pool where you can swim but the water is cold even in summer. Benches and wooden deck chairs are installed to let you comfortably enjoy this moment of freshness.

The ride to Sonogno is wonderful. I did it by Post bus with a tour group, so no chance to stop along the way at either the amazing dam or the jumping bridge. Sonogno itself is quite charming. With some extra time, the 20 minute walk to Froda is well worth it. It's not a world-beater for height, but it is scenic and a change from the village experience of Sonogno. Along the way are one or more 'grottos' (limited menu outdoor restaurants); this was the tour's only exposure to that part of Swiss culture.

Unfriendly service and totally overpriced. You can tell that people come here because of the waterfall and they just treat the guests like a rip-off.
