This is a few minute detour off the path to the Moria Arch loop track although you could easily walk here and back to the start in 15 minutes. It had been raining so was very eerily misty but there was a great reflection.

Out of the spectacular sights in the area this is probably the least awe inspiring. We were here quiet early in the day and the sun was quite low, we got some great photos, but probably could have done with a little more light.

Down the short walk to the Mirror tarn to find some swamp looking pond which looked rather nasty. If you have the time do the full walk around to the Moira Cave if not don't waste your time here.

Be prepared for a slow easy drive on a well maintained gravel road to reach the Basin area. Once you reach the parking areas near the end of the road you will be glad you persevered. The walks are great for anyone interested in geology....More
