A quiet place in the off season. Lots of fisherman's cottages converted to summer rentals. Whole town is painted in white with colorful door and window trimmings, mostly in blue. Nice cafes facing the beach to hang around in off season or in the peak. Would return!

(offseason review...I'll bet this place is crazy in the high season) Stopped by while out exploring. What a beautiful, little hidden gem of a place! Beautiful, safe, great swimming, never too crowded, no seaweed and rarely any flies. Jsut occasionally, if there has been a storm out at sea, the waves can be daunting. But this is the Atlantic, after all, and the great waves crashing on the beach make a fine spectacle when the weather's not too great. Just perfect

Salema Beach is a wide, sandy beach, with plenty of space to play! Parking is limited, so get there early! If you can't find a spot in the village you can park up the hill and access the beach through the boardwalk on the west end of the beach.

Great beach in autumn or spring, when it's not crowded. Here you can start a hike to Burgau and than further to La Luz. Nice coastal walk!
