The Valley course meanders through forest, borders lakes, and traverses creeks and rivers throughout its 18 holes, while offering spectacular views of Vancouver Island's beautiful landscape. In contrast to the existing Mountain course, the par 71 Valley course measures 6807 yards from the Golden Bear tees - around 400 yards shorter than its sibling. Factor in elevated tee boxes, more generous fairway widths, fewer bunkers and larger greens and the Valley course will likely be considered a 'friendlier' version of the original. Rolling through terrain at elevations of between 300 and 500 feet above sea level, there is still plenty of challenge, and many holes that could be considered the signature hole.

Great golf course

Fun day at the course, it was very busy and quite a long round but it is the busy season. Staff were terrific, very professional. The course is user friendly and very scenic

I participated in a charity tournament with a shotgun start on hole 4. The drink cart arrived at hole 11 and by that point we were only concerned with finding the washrooms. We were told we had missed them - they were on hole 10! We had been looking since hole 8 and there was no indication on the GPS,... More

Really enjoyable golf course and plenty of wildlife as I discovered on the first when looking for my ball in a hazard and received rather a disapproving look from a deer who then trotted off sniggering. The staff were very helpful and the resort is first rate. I did not get to play the Mountain course but is was highly... More

We really enjoyed the course! Great views of wild life and the course was both challenging and forgiving. Staff was very accommodating and friendly! We would golf here again.

A great course in its own right and it will test your skills to the fullest. The course it self did not seem too long but the fairways require good accuracy and even when you get onto the greens you work has just begun. At any rate this course is full of beautiful views and extremely well maintained like its... More

We were told at the start that he group in front 'might be slow'. They were not applying golf rules and just screwing around. Not on for a course like this. It's not an easy course and esp when you are first time. A bit of an insult to bigger hitting women; par 3 79 yard n 89... I used... More

If i could only play one course while I was at bear mountain, this would be the one. Better course overall. Seen 2 beautiful bald eagles in the lower valley on the back nine. Tough course from the tips.

We have golfed many, many courses in BC, and this is one of the most beautiful courses I have had the pleasure of playing. Green fees are steep at $149 or $159 weekends, however we played twilight for $90.00 each + cart. The whole Westin resort is stunning, but about a 25-30 minute drive from the harbor in Victoria, so... More

We went here to use up a gift certificate and found that it was not valid here. They felt sorry for us and gave us a great deal. Glad we accepted. Each hole is almost on its own and you do not see many other golfers. It is beautifully layed out and still a true test of golf. We truly... More

It is the course that show the other side of your game. While the mountains makes it challenging for your long-distance clubs and approach shots the valley is the short game course. As the greens are challenging to read but are very fun.
