Whether it is to watch the wonder of nature in any season, this is the place. The annual SALMON run is astonishing. Don't go if you are squeamish about seeing decaying fish with a bit of a pungent smell. Right nearby is an Interpretive center that is very educational and well appointed with themed books and crafts. A ways down... More

My boyfriend and I went to Goldstream yesterday and we really loved it. Coming from the Kootenays where we do not get large trees it was amazing to see how big the trees are. We walked through the park for the first little bit, then we got into our truck and drove through the park. Which was so cool to... More

This is a very nice provincial park which is especially interesting when the salmon are spawning and you can come and see the mommy fish lay their eggs and the daddy fish do their business.

We loved the nice, easy hiking trails, the beautiful waterfalls and the interesting visitor's center.

We hiked up the Mt Finlayson trail on a cold November day. I had heard that it was steep but in reality half way up it turns into a scramble to the top. Climbing through tree roots, then up a rocky stream and then on to larger slabs of rock, finally we made it to the top. It made for... More

Two good walks, the lower river an easy access to the miracle of salmon returning and dying. The upper a more rugged hike, out to pools and falls, with the salmon that make it throwing themselves fruitlessly against the falls. One of the most accessible wild salmon runs in the Northwest.

We visit this park often especially during November when the Salmon Run is in full swim - If you have not been, then you need to do this too. We took our grandson who was visiting from Australia and is six years old. He could not stand still running up an down the banks of the river watching as hundreds... More
