We hiked up the Mt Finlayson trail on a cold November day. I had heard that it was steep but in reality half way up it turns into a scramble to the top. Climbing through tree roots, then up a rocky stream and then on to larger slabs of rock, finally we made it to the top. It made for... More

Two good walks, the lower river an easy access to the miracle of salmon returning and dying. The upper a more rugged hike, out to pools and falls, with the salmon that make it throwing themselves fruitlessly against the falls. One of the most accessible wild salmon runs in the Northwest.

We visit this park often especially during November when the Salmon Run is in full swim - If you have not been, then you need to do this too. We took our grandson who was visiting from Australia and is six years old. He could not stand still running up an down the banks of the river watching as hundreds... More

Easy assessable trails and lots of picnic space, great for kids exploration. Avoid on weekends parking is impossible and so many tourists.

Always a beautiful spot, the park is particularly interesting in the fall when the salmon run. Gorgeous trees along the stream make for a very beautiful walk. Stop at the waterfall as well as the park house/ shop/ museum. You can't beat the price - free!

Went for a walk with the dogs there during the salmon run. The trails are in great shape. In the fall it's absolutely beautiful there. You could spend hours there just watching the spawning salmon or hiking the trails. Take a camera, you will need it.

easy access, just a short drive from down town Victoria, can be visited all year around, the best time is late October to mid or late November for the Salmon run, the park itself is beautiful with wide flat trails and wheelchair accessible.

What a stunning Provincial Park. We were there in Fall, during the week and welcome centre not open. There were a few informative signs around though. Great walking trials well marked. Fall meant had stunning tree colours along with the old growth forest and rivers. Good open fire pits to cook at with picnic tables. Parking limited even on a... More
