Fresh air, very nice staff and good food. Definitely a go to place for a little wine, some warmed up olives and pizza. The venue is beautiful however we were sitting in the lower part of the restaurant so our lake view was obscured. We saw tables up another level which Im sure would have provided a brilliant view. We did find the wine very expensive compared to other vineyards. Although good there were no outstanding qualities that would justify buying wine here versus the other less expensive wineries.

What an amazing dining experience! It starts with the location, overlooking vineyards to the lake, and the architecture of the winery and the restaurant...but it doesn't stop there. We ordered several items and paired them with the 50th Parallel wines, and each course was a hit. The tartar - unreal. The lamb - to die for. Crab cakes? YES! No fillers...So delicious. HIGHLY recommended. We stayed at Sparkling Hill Resort which is an easy 10min drive to the winery and restaurant.

Food was great and service was fantastic. What we found disappointing was that they had a wedding going on and because of that limited their bar menu, so very few offerings to have a cocktail after dinner. When you are paying the prices that a place like this charges, they should never be limiting the menu in any way in my opinion.
When you have functions, DO NOT let that impact your restaurant, bring in more help so you can maintain what you advertise.

Block One came highly recommended to us by friends. So I was worried it would not meet expectations. I should not have worried. The setting, the wine, the food and the service were all exceptional.

Our waiter was a lovely mature gentleman, and I ashamed to admit I have forgotten his name. He was so knowledgeable about the food and wine.

We were staying at Sparkling Hills and, if anyone is staying there, I highly recommend making the trip out to have dinner at Block One. The draw back is that sparklingHill and Block One fall within 2 taxi boundary’s. So the taxi that took us to Block One are not allowed to pick up and take back to Sparkling Hills.

So to get there we used Vernon Taxis. One the way back we used Current Taxi. I would recommend both, however Current taxi has an app to make the booking and all their cars are Tesla’s.

We had heard of this restaurant from friends who had been there in July and loved it. When we arrived our jaws dropped from the stunning beauty of the grounds and buildings. Our server Mark was nothing short of incredible!! Their lemon grass cheesecake was the best dessert we have ever had. We had crab cake as an appetizer and that was also outstanding. Don’t pass up the opportunity to dine at this restaurant. We were on a tour of Bordeaux wineries last September and this facility was in a similar league..

Our wine tour with Spero was amazing! He went above and beyond to share his love of wine making with us and any question we had, he answered them. We felt his passion for 50th Parallel in the way he talked about the owners and the beautiful wines they've created. We've been to many wineries in the Okanagan and highly recommend this one. If you can request Spero as your tour guide, you're guaranteed to have an incredible visit. We left with wine in tow and it is some of the best we've had. Thank you so much to the 50th Parallel family.

Made a reservation at Block One for happy hour for after our wine tasting at 50th Parallel winery. Prices are very good for happy hour. Generous pour of their cold crisp and yummy Gerwerztriminer for $6 and a Pinot Noir for $8.50.

As for food for happy hour, their selection is quite limited but we enjoyed a dozen of their very fresh royal miyagi oysters at $2/piece and 2 orders of their fried humboldt squid for $9/each. The squid was very good.

Our server, a very tall young man, was excellent, friendly, and efficient. Great service by this young server and great food for happy hour!

Have been to Block One at 50th Parallel many times for lunch and have enjoyed every meal. This time we both ordered the “soy marinated sablefish”. So disappointing! Fish was delicious but very small piece of “tail end” and the rest of this dish was so tasteless and unappealing so not something we could recommend. Not what we have experienced on previous visits. Only 3 other tables and ourselves in restaurant at 1pm so we were trying to figure out what has happened to what we normally see as a busy restaurant. Think the chef needs to review this particular dish. I did message them in case staff shortages etc were part of the problem, but have had no response. Gave 3 stars because service was excellent, and this is a beautiful spot.

Had a wonderful dinner here that started off our vacation perfectly. They serve only their own wines, meaning the biggest wine they have by the glass is a Pinot Noir. This went well with the crabcakes and mushroom pizza, but it would have been nice to have something a bit bigger to go with the beef tenderloin. That said, the food was fantastic, the tenderloin in particular being so tender it almost melted in your mouth. The building is architecturally interesting, and there are beautiful views of the vineyard and the lake. The service was quite good, though we had to wait some time to get our water replenished. We would definitely come here again - it's a lovely place with excellent food.

This is the first time we have been to 50th Parallel! Wow very impressive, set amongst it’s vineyards the feel is local and intimate but absolutely contemporary, the Winery is beautiful! To start we had the beef ribs and the scallops very good. Then the Wagyu steak (medium rare to perfection) delicious and the Salmon which again was delicious.
Both were pared with their bubbly (not the blanc de noir) and it was very very good, we also tried the concrete pinot noir (aged in a concrete egg) and it was very good as well. With all of that our server Julian was amazing, very informative and attentive, seemed to be around just at the right time all evening, well done Julian! This is not only a great winery but also a great restaurant destination which I highly recommend!
