    A great tasting experience
Enjoyed a wine tasting early in the season and was not disappointed. We’ve been here a few times now, and always receive excellent service. It looks like they’re offering a more elevated winetasting experience, with sit down, tastings and such. They even have a spot by the fireplace, which isn’t a bad idea in early March, with snow on the surrounding hills. Gray monk has a diverse offering of wines, from sparkling, sparkling rosé, and your full range of whites and reds, including some fantastic reds like their meritage. The 2019 Meritage won gold at the national wine awards of Canada. This is a pretty tasty red. If you like wines at all, visit this winery for a tasting.

    Great
Had some spare time in Lake Country and checked out two wineries. The other which I won't mention was awful, but Grey Monk saved the day. I'm ok to splurge on wine, but for the price I expect quality. Grey Monk was reasonably priced specific to the quality and the wine tasting staff were fantastic. I've kept going back to this place as its staff are very down to earth and not snooty and rude like the other winery in the area I had been to further north.

Look Out restaurant only has set menu
I made reservations a month in advance as in the past, this restaurant is very busy. We were surprised when parking was half full. We did not know it was a set menu for $65per person, includes one entree and a main plus 4 oz wine pairing. Menu is very limited. My sister found nothing to her liking so settled for an heirloom tomato salad. Mostly cherry tomatoes and deep fried cheese. It was bland. The French fries as an extra appetizer was really good as was the lamb pasta dish. However the meal was not worth $65 per person. If we were informed when we came in of the price and menu, we would not have eaten there as there are many other wineries to eat at.

    Wonderful Experience
We visited Gray Monk Winery during our Honeymoon in Canada, and what an experience it was. We went for the 2 course deal and the food/wine was beautiful. We felt like it was a reasonable price for the quality of food/wine you get. A wonderful dining experience with great service and a beautiful view. We are so glad we visited here whilst in Lake Country making it a great day. Make sure you visit here and enjoy the same experience we did.

Historic Winery - one of the first in the Okanagan
Enjoyed our visit here and some of the history of the vineyard, which started in the Okanagan in the 70's and was the first to introduce Pinot Gris to the Okanagan. Have to say I wasn't overly taken with the wines, other than the Pinot Gris, but that is personal preference. Very pricey.

This was a not an impressive winery. Beautiful view but that’s it. Lady hosting us did not tell us her name, did not explain how purchase or tasting works, offered no read along to see which wines we tasted or purchase prices. She just pointed to wall on other side of room for pricing which none of us could see that far anyways. Just tried to push us to join the wine club. Maybe they get commission, I’m not sure. Cashier was super friendly but obviously new and didn’t even know how to work the till.
10$/person tasting fee….plus tax!!! Didn’t like the Pinot Gris which is my favourite white, Riesling was too sweet and rose so-so but not what I prefer. Cab Sav was excellent but at 40$ (with tax) not worth it when you ad another $11.50. (Tasting fee).
Equals $11.50/ person for maybe 6 oz and one I poured out. I refused to buy on the principle of the fact the tasting fee did not go towards a purchase and/or was donated to a worthwhile charity.
Wednesday nite in July. Could not go to restaurant even to admire the view as it closed at 3pm! A very disappointing visit!!

My husband and I decided to stop in for a late lunch on our anniversary. Surprisingly the parking lot was 3/4 empty. We went to the LookOut restaurant and asked for a table outside on the patio as it was a beautiful sunny day. The hostess brought us to the deck and began to seat us at a table and we asked if we could sit on against the edge so we could enjoy the view. She told us those tables were only for guests who have reservations. There was at least five empty tables. When our waitress came we asked if people dont show up for their reservations can we move to a table with a lake view. She said she would ask the manager and came back to the table and said unfortunately she was told “No” We were there from 130-3 in the afternoon. Those same tables sat empty and as people left after lunch they were almost all empty along the patio railing. As we were leaving the male manager at the front desk, I then told him how disappointing it was that we were not accommodated in our request to have a table overlooking the lake when they sat empty the entire time. I told him in high season I could appreciate that but on a day when the restaurant was completely empty holding tables? When you are dropping 150.00 for a bottle of wine and an appetizer and be treated like a second class citizen because we didn’t have a reservation? The manager shrugged his shoulders and walked away down the stairs. Not even an acknowledgement or apology on his lack of professionalism. Anyways we went up the road to another winery with the same view, better menu and delightful staff.

We’re fans of Gray Monk so were excited to visit for a tasting. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. My partner ended up joining their wine club which was worth it, even though we’re not local. Highly recommend the restaurant on site as well but it’s best to book ahead.
