We are not avid race fans and inexperienced in the ways of betting but the staff were lovely and explained it all happily. My wife and l celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary along with family on Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse. We had booked places in the Minster Suite and from arrival we were treated to something special. The venue is spotless the food exceptional and the staff attentive. The manager (Claire) ensured that everything went without a hitch. The MC within the suite kept everyone informed about what was happening and helped us have a great day. The day ended perfectly sitting in the sunshine listening to Scott Mills playing some great music.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 August 2023

This is a lovely, relatively small course and the staff were all really personable. Stephan who was on the gate for the car park gave brilliant customer service to everyone. He should be commended.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 September 2023

Just been to family fun day did not go in the restaurant the racing was fine what you would expect however the facilities at this race course are terrible queues every where not enough food outlets could not get a coffee the queues too long if you wait in the queue you miss the race just one outlet selling coffee for the amount of people too few out lets comparing this course with others of similar size it’s poor won’t be coming back I’ve been many times before but prefer other courses

Here right now in the Seasons restaurant on Ladies day and feel the service has been just so poor. £200 per ticket and our designated waiter has had to be told to serve us after we complained on a number of occasions. The food is nice as is the venu, but service is just poor. Also the allocated balcony to watch the racing is far too small and we were squashed in, which was so uncomfortable. Definitely not doing this again. Go in the stand and bring a picnic!!!

June 12th 2023 Meeting
Our day was spoilt by the appalling behaviour of a Racecourse employee who harangued us in the Car Park with the most vile language and threatening behaviour. He apparently was frustrated by my driving up the long lane into the racecourse. He was totally out of order and to make matters even worse he was the individual in charge of Hospitality in the reception area. Disgraceful. I have sent a letter of complaint to the Chief Executive of Southwell Racecourse asking for this employee to be dismissed immediately. We will not be returning to Southwell Racecourse ever again.

This venue has been repurposed to rely heavily on dining/private boxes and owners and trainers, leaving Jo public (regular race goers) to suffer in the overcrowded draughty basement (in winter). I used to prefer this course to Leicester, but now won’t be returning. Even in the summer sitting outside it’s not possible to see the NH runners as the running rail masks the track. Poor design. Today, December 29th we went to the evening meeting and suffered with many others in the cold overcrowded basement while the diners and corporates enjoyed the best facilities upstairs (which clearly wasn’t full) Spoke to many who were very disappointed with the new regime.
It’s like the Titanic. Money on the upper decks and proletariat below, and they don’t really care.
Don’t go. We won’t.

We have ordered drinks vouchers, and they've all arrived as £5 vouchers. Are all drinks at the bars just a standard £5? Ie pint of lager/bitter/cider/glass of wine?

I am sure drinks are not a standard price.
Does the racetrack issue e tickets when bought online

yes , but thats what I thought I was buying, so make sure you read things properly before buying. If you sign up for Rewards4Racing you can purchase lots of things through them and the money you save can go towards other tickets for racing.

Some people take chairs but there are some outdoor picnic tables with seats and plenty of indoor seats in the cafe and bar areas. We occasionally sit on the viewing steps which are undercover.
