Kasari meadow in Matsalu National Park in Laanemaa is the biggest preserved open meadow in Europe – 4000 hectares in size. The meadow needs cutting and hay needs to be taken away on an annual basis; otherwise, it will turn into scrubland. In springs the meadow is usually flooded for a couple of weeks. The view opening from Kloostri birdwatching tower is magnificent – the tower is also good for birdwatching. In summer, after flooding, you can come and watch wild animals.Good to know:In springs it might not be possible to get to the tower without your feet getting wet.

Stunning area. Beautiful (flat) scenery, wonderful bird life and mammals, almost deserted of people by West European standards. Facilities for wildlife watchers (even in the middle of nowhere) were exceptional (viewing towers, toilets). A lovely place to go. PS: Visit out of midge season.

This is Estonia's best known birding locality which covers a substantial area of the central west coast. It's famous for large numbers of several species of ducks and geese. Accessing the area to get close enough to the birds is the tricky part. We found...More

Matsalu National Park is one of the biggest bird habitats in Europe. First we visited the cultural center and watched a photo collage about different times of year. The we took the guided boat tour in park. It was an amazing time.

Not that I could find as such. Best bet is to go onto the NATURETREK travel site (they do birding tours). Go to Estonia and look at past reports (2017/6/5) as they list what they see ..... what I can say however is you will... More
