We went on this journey with Nikos Papas the 18/8-23, and we are not disappointed. We took the local bus at 8 AM (bus number 1) from the bus station in Rhodes town to the meeting point. We had a great day with a group of 11 people. All adults, and that is quite rare, we were told. Normally they’re several kids joining the journey. We were two from Belgium and 7 from the Netherlands. My husband and I were the only Danes. Not many Danes come on this trip, we were told, and that’s really a shame for the Danes, they are really missing out on a great experience. Thank you Nikos, for a spectacular day.

The 'jungle' is set in a beautiful green valley with orchards, woodland, springs and streams - such a contrast with the barren, rocky east coast. This is a very different experience to the commercialised, mass tourism of Butterfly Valley and Nikos clearly loves sharing his little piece of heaven with guests, which he does in an entertaining (if surreal) way.
The adventure requires a modest level of fitness - there's some scrambling and clambering - and you will get wet and muddy. I thoroughy enjoyed it and I suspect adventurous kids in the 8 to 15 age range would find this the highlight of their holiday.
We got a taxi but the rendez-vous is on the KTEL bus route between Rhodes Town and Pefkos (don't know if location varies but worth checking because the buses are cheap and reliable on Rhodes).
The route follows lightly-worn trails and is respectful of the environment. If there was a Rhodes Green Tourism award, it should go to the Jungle Adventure.
Hydrate well (this is Rhodes!) and I suggest taking hand sanitizer to use before eating.

We visited Niko early August 2022. I made the reservations (without really reading d=the description.vvWe wew 2 seniors my daughter, her husband and 2 teens, 15 and 17. Unfortunately., I wasn't fit enough to participate. My son in law could not believe I signed up for this adventure but he had also told me the children didn't want to do any tours. Well, this was not a typical tour! My son in law said he would never forget the experience. My husband, age 76 and in much better condition than I am, enjoyed it. I wish I ncould have participated but I did enjoy the food Niko prepared and the ceremony my son'in law starred in! I did get to ride in the Mercedes, which not everyone gets to do!

What a fabulous fun filled experience! I live on the island so very nice to got finally meet the great Nikos Papas … entertaining, interesting and fun for our jungle tour and a must to do when in rhodes !!!

A wonderful time in nature, a secret paradise & truly unique experience on the island of Rhodes. This was my third trip out and I've had a different, but equally enjoyable time on each occasion. Nikos has been taking groups out for 55 years so is very knowledgeable and knows his jungle like the back of his hand. You'll need sensible footwear that you don't mind getting wet, a sense of adventure and an open mind. If you don't experience this tour before you go home, you've missed out!

We are from Latvia. We found this jungle tour. Was a amazing experience in jungle of Rhodes. Dont forget also swimsuits, becouse there is gonna be a nice place for swim. If you are in Rhodes, you should definetly try this.

Hi,
As for any one joining Nikos on his jungle tour you have to make your own way to and from the meeting point.
If you're staying in Pefkos then you have a few options available.
The first would be a taxi from the Pefkos taxi rank and the cost can be confirmed by simply asking at the rank.
Second would be to use the bus service which runs very frequently along the main road and the meeting point is actually right next to the main road and the bus stop. This would be the cheapest option and an additional experience.
Lastly would be to hire some form of transport for a few days maybe and make your own way there. There are plenty of rental businesses in Pefkos.

This sounds just the sort of day we'd love! We'll get dropped off by taxi, but what time and where should the taxi collect us after the tour? We'll be in Rhodes Town from 7 to 21 October.

Hi, the tour has a meeting place at the Archangelos roundabout on the Rhodes-Lindos main road (95) under the olive trees on the right-hand side when travelling south to Lindos.
You will be brought back to this meeting point once the tour has finished.
Usual finish time is approximately 15.30 and you can confirm this with Rian (the organiser and wife of Nikos) when the taxi drops you off.

Kalimera, sadly due to the virus and the imposed restrictions Nikos is not cooking food so yes definitely bring a sandwich or similar.
Nikos is still providing drinks at the location where you stop for lunch.
Taking water for the walking involved is a good idea.
If you do the Jungle tour have fun 🙂 Steve.

Hi and happy New year ☺️,
Have done the tour several times but have not seen a child of your daughters age on it.
Nikos who takes the tour is always very accommodating to people of all ages and abilities but people still need to make their own way.
A pushchair/buggy would be out of the question due to the terrain the tour covers.
It's a long day, 6 hours approximately, to be carrying her for especially in the August temperatures.
Not wishing to put you off the fantastic tour but maybe you should wait until she is a little older.
Whatever you decide have a nice holiday on Rhodes this year ☺️.

We're staying in Pekfi Island. How easy or difficult is it to get to the meeting /pick up point using public transport (taxi/bus)

Hi,
On the various occasions we've done the tour there have always been other participants who have travelled by local bus without any problems.
I can't advise what time the buses run but if it's Pefkos you're staying in then a bus should be no problem at all.
Likewise the meeting point is next to the main road at Archangelos.
The buses run very regularly throughout the season going north and south and you'll probably find that the driver knows where you need to get off for the start.
Going by taxi would be even easier as there is a taxi rank in Pefkos and you'll find that the cost to various places is preset and shown on a sign.
Taxi will obviously be dearer than going by bus.

Thank yo for your interest in the Jungle of Rhodes.
You can take the local bus to Rhodes and get of at the roundabout which gives acces to the village of Archangelos. This roundabout is the Meeting Point. Ask your reception for the departure times of the local bus. The trip will be about half an hour. Alternative: choose for the Jungle Tour on Saturday and Impress Travel will arrange you the return transfer for 14 euro p.p. only! . So no stress to miss the Meeting point! I can give you the contact details of Impress Travel by WhatsApp 00 30 6938 19 00 41. Or visit their office in Pefkos.

please read there aswel the frequently asked questions.
the meeting point is the roundabout located just south of the village of Archangelos-on the main road that runs on the east coast of the island.
the meeting point can be reached by local bus; there is a bus stop just 20 meters south of the roundabout! easier is it if you arrive by car or motorcycle.
that saves waiting times (for the local bus) and . . . . you are free to go afterwards to one of the beautiful sandy beaches near by. hope to see you this summer!
