If you tire of the pointless roasting of your skin on the magnificent beaches of Rhodes.
If when passing the landscapes of the island and wonder, what if I just take a detour down into that verdant wonder. Then this is the trip for you.
I easily found my way there with the wonderful assistance of Maia Kazakou who lives in the charming village of Archanglos. Now working at the Londos Imperial.
You will need to awaken the charming host Nikos Papos in the most unique way.
But once awoken you will be transported in his Rolls Royce! into the interior of his domain.
You will follow, off the beaten tracks, ducking and diving the surrounding vegetation.
Through streams up to you knees, swimming in the cooling pools, accompanied by the informative and ever charming Nikos.
Feeding freshwater turtles and shearing your waters with freshwater crabs.
For the very reasonable price, you will be truly entertained by the unique character of Nikos.
Top tip wear a correct software, as you will need the balance and fortitude of a Rhodean feral goat.
But above all, this is an experience that will linger longer than your any of your beach fryings sessions.
As will the wonder of Nikos who loves his beautiful Archanglos Jungle.

It's a strange time all over the world and lockdown restrictions haven't helped any of us.
Which is why we were more than happy to discover that Nikos and Rian were still offering their Jungle tour, all be it in a modified form.
Nikos was his usual happy and helpful self when we started the tour on Sunday 23rd.
He made it very clear about following the virus health protocols but as the tour is fully outdoors the only real thing to watch was appropriate distancing.
So off we went a mixture of nationalities and ages from 2yrs to a much bigger number!! and soon reached the coolness of Niks jungle.
It wasn't long before we stopped and Nikos gave impromptu dancing lessons to those who wanted to participate, much to the delight of two young German ladies.
Not much further and we were by clear running cool spring water where everyone took a refreshing dip.
After another hour or so of following the springs water and we arrived at one of Niks surprise's.
Lunchtime came round all too quickly and we found ourselves at another Nikos surprise location for a rest, drinks ( provided by Nikos ) and the food that we had brought with us.
Yet another big and very enjoyable surprise staged by Nikos with very careful attention paid to the need for distancing.
Once over it was time to make our way out of the jungle but not before another Nikos surprise !! There's no stopping Nikos when it comes to keeping his family of jungle tourers entertained.
Over five hours spent in complete bliss with a host who is very natural at entertaining his guests and not a thought about the virus.
Well done Nikos and Rian and thank you for such a wonderful time.
See you next year 🙂.

The most amazing day out on the island with Nikos Papas. Packed with fun and lots of surprises along the way. Entertaining and fun host Nikos took us through incredible scenery while practicing social distancing, there was even hand sanitiser in the bamboo! Rambling, laughing, swimming, mud masks, hammocks, dancing, were just some of the things we enjoyed.The most amazing day out on the island. Highly recommend this tour to families, groups and singles alike. We would go again for sure. 💕

Not my first jungletime... but how amazing that Nikos of the jungle can still, everytime, make this jungleday unique! The route was different.. the activities were different.. and still again.. it was unbelievably nice.. I went with my daughter of 7.. and she loved it.. also due to the fact that there was a waterfall with a small natural pool, a mini canyoning were you can as well get a natural mudtherapy, a beautiful gorge and the fantastic paradise area with different areas.. some with hammocks, others with a sitting area and the top of the top was a small lake with a canoe!! She really enjoyed that! We had lots of fun with the others and Nikos made us really feel happy... "Laughing is free of charge!" Also Diogenis the dancer added happines to our day! All this after the lockdown Corona period was VERY welcome. In the jungle Social Distancing is fully respected by the way!! So really safe for you to have an unforgetable day as well!

This tour was a crazy but awesome experience! It takes a couple of minutes to get used to Nikos, but he is the perfect guide. He tries his best to give everyone a pleasant experience. The first part of the day is active with a small hike trough a beautiful part of Rhodes followed by a relaxt part at a beautiful lake. The day is full of surprises, with as a high a special surprise from Nikos for my girlfriend and I, which we will never forget!

My son and I visited The jungle of Rhodes just yesterday and it was an amazing experience. Nikos was very entertaining and accommodating of everyone’s needs. My son who is only 5 was able to keep up with everyone else however he did get a little tired at the end but once we arrived back he can not stop talking about the adventure, we met some really kind people who also made his experience even better by helping him find, see and even touch some of the small animals such as crabs, turtles, butterflies and frogs. Nikos has a great personality and he even made us food in his jungle kitchen! Definitely worth the trip, a memory we will not forget!

What a special experience... don't think there are 2 like Nikos Papas and his tour. First you have to gather at a roundabout and then you drive to the jungle accompanied by Max Verstappen's grandmother (in a blue Panda). What happens next will be different for everyone! But I can tell you that the day flies by as you fly from mud masks to a delicious lunch in Nikos' "backyard" and a ride in his "Porsche". This is a must-do for any family visiting Rhodes.

Sitting on the roof of Nikos 'porsche' driving with Greek music the first 600 meters then you arrive in his Greek paradise. Nikos is far from crazy but a nice 74 years old guy who let youmake aquaitance with the Greek nature. He makes a lot of jokes and is carefull with his audience. The tour is full of surprises climing over ro ks en walking through water.. It's a great opportunity to escape from crowdy beaches and dis over the innland. Thank you Nikos for your tour and kindness.

A day beyond compare! This jungle experience with Nikos has everything you could wish for. A totally corona-proof day in which you immerse yourself in untouched Greek nature and authentic hospitality. Even after traveling around the globe for months, I have never found such a serene and lovely place!
The day was full of suprises and LOTS of fun. Nikos' energy and enthusiasm is contagious! His stories and jokes make you appreciate the unspoiled nature even more. We have seen native flora, wandered through the jungle, went for a swim and hang around in the hammocks. Me and my friends enjoyed it a lot! Go and try it for yourself; relax and enjoy the day!
Thank you Nikos for sharing your passion in this gorgeous piece of nature!

It was time to get my Jungle fix with my daughter and her friend and join Nikos for a stress free trip out.
Nikos was his ever happy and enthusiastic self and just loves a little song or two as he winds his way through his Jungle.
Yet again he managed to use a route which I'd never experienced before and I've joined him 8 or 9 times now.
Our day was made all the more special with Nikos rustling up a surprise at the lunch stop.
Feeding some of the wildlife there was another new experience as well.
For a trip out that leaves behind all the usual tourist trappings join Nikos. I'm sure you won't regret it.

Hi,
As for any one joining Nikos on his jungle tour you have to make your own way to and from the meeting point.
If you're staying in Pefkos then you have a few options available.
The first would be a taxi from the Pefkos taxi rank and the cost can be confirmed by simply asking at the rank.
Second would be to use the bus service which runs very frequently along the main road and the meeting point is actually right next to the main road and the bus stop. This would be the cheapest option and an additional experience.
Lastly would be to hire some form of transport for a few days maybe and make your own way there. There are plenty of rental businesses in Pefkos.

Hi, the tour has a meeting place at the Archangelos roundabout on the Rhodes-Lindos main road (95) under the olive trees on the right-hand side when travelling south to Lindos.
You will be brought back to this meeting point once the tour has finished.
Usual finish time is approximately 15.30 and you can confirm this with Rian (the organiser and wife of Nikos) when the taxi drops you off.

Kalimera, sadly due to the virus and the imposed restrictions Nikos is not cooking food so yes definitely bring a sandwich or similar.
Nikos is still providing drinks at the location where you stop for lunch.
Taking water for the walking involved is a good idea.

Hi and happy New year ☺️,
Have done the tour several times but have not seen a child of your daughters age on it.
Nikos who takes the tour is always very accommodating to people of all ages and abilities but people still need to make their own way.
A pushchair/buggy would be out of the question due to the terrain the tour covers.
It's a long day, 6 hours approximately, to be carrying her for especially in the August temperatures.
Not wishing to put you off the fantastic tour but maybe you should wait until she is a little older.
Whatever you decide have a nice holiday on Rhodes this year ☺️.

Hi,
On the various occasions we've done the tour there have always been other participants who have travelled by local bus without any problems.
I can't advise what time the buses run but if it's Pefkos you're staying in then a bus should be no problem at all.
Likewise the meeting point is next to the main road at Archangelos.
The buses run very regularly throughout the season going north and south and you'll probably find that the driver knows where you need to get off for the start.
Going by taxi would be even easier as there is a taxi rank in Pefkos and you'll find that the cost to various places is preset and shown on a sign.
Taxi will obviously be dearer than going by bus.

Thank yo for your interest in the Jungle of Rhodes.
You can take the local bus to Rhodes and get of at the roundabout which gives acces to the village of Archangelos. This roundabout is the Meeting Point. Ask your reception for the departure times of the local bus. The trip will be about half an hour. Alternative: choose for the Jungle Tour on Saturday and Impress Travel will arrange you the return transfer for 14 euro p.p. only! . So no stress to miss the Meeting point! I can give you the contact details of Impress Travel by WhatsApp 00 30 6938 19 00 41. Or visit their office in Pefkos.

please read there aswel the frequently asked questions.
the meeting point is the roundabout located just south of the village of Archangelos-on the main road that runs on the east coast of the island.
the meeting point can be reached by local bus; there is a bus stop just 20 meters south of the roundabout! easier is it if you arrive by car or motorcycle.
that saves waiting times (for the local bus) and . . . . you are free to go afterwards to one of the beautiful sandy beaches near by. hope to see you this summer!
