    Lovely small bay/beach
Lovely beach/bay with open clear water perfect for snorkelling. There is a tiki bar/restaurant which serves excellent food. They also have large soft sun loungers which are free as long as you spend minimum €15 euros at the bar/restaurant. We spent 4 hours here and it was lovely

    Best beach in Rhodes
We came to the beach last week and I have to say it was amazing! The loungers were 10€ each which was acceptable, they were the most comfortable sun beds we’ve ever used. We had club sandwiches and fries which were spot on. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive and the view was just perfect. It’s a really lovely sandy beach with toilets and wash facilities. I wish we had spent more days at the beach. I would highly recommend if you’re staying local to go here. The restaurant inside looks beautiful.

    Lovely beach but quite commodified
The beach is set in a sheltered area and is pretty shallow, so it’s easy to get in and out of the water. It’s clean and sandy. Be aware that there is not a lot of shade if you are going with small kids. The snack bar at the end is reasonably priced and you can sit and have a coffee, ice cream etc. The massive wooden restaurant/bar thing on the beach is a bit bizarre. It’s hard to see how planning permission was granted for it. I have not removed any stars because it’s still a nice beach, but it dominates, pumping out trance/dance music all day. It owns the sun Ed’s which are €50, €40, €30 depending on which row you choose. I see other people have reported different prices so it clearly changes all the time. The bizarrely dressed staff wander around telling people off for hanging towels from the spokes of the parasol that they have paid for. We had one drink in the bar and although it was very nice, we did not return as it felt very unwelcoming. Still a lovely beach though, with plenty of space to take your own drinks/food and enjoy yourself.

One of the best beach bars ever
Absolutely beautiful bay and one of the most stunning beach bars I have visited in Greece. The view from Escapada was excellent, the vibe and interior was wonderful and Tonia was very polite and helpful. I was only charged 20 euros for the umbrella and sun lounger as a single person which was nice because I was charged 60 euros at St Paul's beach in Lindos even though I was by myself. Slightly confusing though because based on previous reviews it states that some of the guests did not pay for the sun loungers when they spend minimum 15 euros at the restaurant and I spend over 25 euros. Overall I would definitely recommend the beach and I wanted to hire the SUP but there was a strong offshore wind. The SUPs are a separate business to the beach bar and charged 20 euros per hour or 30 euros for 2 hours.

    Paradise Regained
The beauty of this beach has been recovered, one positive thing to result from the dreadful fires. The big ugly structure & over priced, overcrowded sunbeds have now been wiped out by the fires. The blackened trees are still standing defiant and will recover I’m sure. There’s a lovely little cantina with shelter, table and chairs. The only sounds were the sea and someone playing a bouzouki. There aren’t any sunbeds or umbrellas. Some bought their own shades. Was just lovely, like how Greek beaches used to be.

Such a beautiful beach allowing for well needed peace and quiet away from our hotel beach. We loved snorkelling and there was so much to see! We saw numerous pufferfish, pipefish and loads of other kinds of fish! Would definitely recommend!

The beach and water is beautiful. Unfortunately the forest fire was here too. Everything is burned down :(, except for a small food truck, with a very kind lady.

The beach is sandy, the food is pricey and the sun beds costs 100 / 40 / 20 euros. The stuff are nice. There are not many people and most of them are quiet.

We drove to this beach looking for a nice sandy beach.

We arrived and parking was easy though I’m led to believe that sometimes it can be a nightmare and the locals will just block your car in if your parked in a place where it shouldn’t be.

We went and got some beds that are provided by the beach club there, the beds are €15/person and they are nice beds. That price is all day price and you get charged by the day irrespective of time there.

The drinks prices and food was a little more than the local drinks van that’s also parked a short walk to the other side of the beach, I just went with the easiest option to get my drinks brought to us.

Food was nice, we ordered some sushi, chicken tacos and a fruit plate.. the food was really nice and the sushi was very tasty. Not really many options for a 3 year old though. The chicken tacos we were told would be the best bet.. not sure the server had kids… the little one wouldn’t eat them.. but I did 🤣.

We ordered the fruit plate and that was really nice, so fresh.

The service was a little slow, we were sat down the very end of all the beds and felt like a effort to get the attention of anyone… this could be better.

The server when he came to clear up actually knocked over a new bottle of drink and half of it spilled everywhere. Didn’t offer to bring a new one or even replace it, I thought this was pretty poor, after the amount of money spent here this really was a shame.

Overall nice place to go, sea was nice to have a dip and swim around, a lady went to the rocks and picked up a sea urchin for her son to see.. so for any snorkel era there’s a few bits to see there too. Water isn’t very deep so for kids it’s ideal.

In the past Glystra was my favorite beach in Rhodes. A restaurant was recently built that also manages beach chair rental, which completely changed the experience at Glystra. The restaurant blares an elevator version of techno music and beach chairs are 30 Euros for two people. So if you like to hear the sound of the water hitting the beach, forget about Glystra. Local residents are not pleased with the changes and I can see why. The natural setting of Glystra is gone forever. I gave three stars because if you like a cosmopolitan ambience without peace and quiet Glystra is the place for you.
