Its a must-visit when in Koh Samui. Loved the Scupture/Statue - Its huge, makes for amazing photography. The temple has many beautiful view points. They have a sign saying no swimwear/revealing outfits allowed inside the temple and they have kimonos that you can wear over your clothes if needed, Nice food places and shopping.

Most talked about attraction of Koh Samui and quite rightly so. The place is peaceful, brings in a sense of gratitude and simplicity. Must visit for religious people and temple lovers. Easiest means to visit is hire a two wheeler for a day and visit Big Buddha and other similar attractions on the island.

Perfect opportunity to get some good photography shots remember to cover up and have socks as no shoes allowed rather hot on the ground during this time of year. Warning!

There are better temples to see on Koh Samui but this is probably the most famous. It has a beautiful view at the top. Please be aware that you should be covered from shoulders to knees to enter. Mostly shops at the bottom and then about 50!or so stairs to the top. Possibly difficult for the elderly or frail otherwise... More

As temple areas and markets go this is a shocker, old , unloved and run down. Tourist attraction special. At the poor end of town and it feels like it.
