This is a ramshackle wooden bar at the end of Maenam Beach and quite simply my favourite place on Samui to chill out listening to great music alongside the sound of the waves. I don't have the words to describe this place adequately, you just have to go and experience it for yourself. Oh, they now have a BBQ so... More

Great little beach bar at the top end of Mae Nam beach. It's a wood and bamboo structure and very rustic in appearance, but that's just want you want from a beach bar when you have walked the length of Mae Nam beach!! Cold beers and a good selection of cocktails plus an extensive range of Thai food which did... More

My fiancée and I have used this bar on 3 occasions during our first week in Mae Nam, it is situated at the very end of the beach (after the pier). They have two happy hours (2-5pm & 7-9pm) and during this time their great cocktails are only 90B. The staff are all very friendly and we have sat at... More

We were staying at Cocopalm Beach Resort and found this little gem a short walk down the beach to the left. This driftwood bar was in an amazing setting with views of the sea. The 70 baht large beers and 90 baht cocktails during happy hour also helped. The staff were laid back and really friendly, giving us an endless... More

The owner had locked the bar and went fishing so I couldn't get a drink despite being reassured he was on his way etc. Then there was this old man who kept trying to chat me up. Not a problem I have encountered in thailand as they are very respectful of women on their own. Not a comfortable experience. Nor... More

What a fantastic and chilled out beach bar. We discovered it and had a swim and some fresh watermelon juice. Around sunset we walked up the steps to the top of the headland and were able to watch the sunset. The only thing was the puppy wouldn't leave us alone, wanting to play and trying to bite.

Very cool looking beach/shack bar. Cocktails were good but strong. We were staying at coco palms and this bar is just a short walk along the beach, although you can access from the road. When we walked up this little dog came running out of nowhere scared me a bit but it was generally friendly except when my partner stopped... More

Black Rose is what it looks like, a hidden pirate bar with great atmosphere and a worn out pool table which gives you the real pirate sensation. Happy hour coctail 90 THB.

This is a great bar, it is not the easiest place to find but it is worth a hunt about. great for kids as it is right on the beach, it is really friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and the location is idyllic. There are not many places that can top this in... More

This was a hard place to find at the far western end of Mae Nam Beach ... but thankfully when we visited it was a lovely warm day, our kids could swim in the ocean and play in the sand whilst we enjoyed a beer and a cocktail and played some pool. A cool little hangout if you want to... More
