The Canyon des Portes de l'Enfer (hell's gate canyon) in Saint-Narcisse-de-Rimouski begins with the Grand Sault waterfall and stretches nearly five miles between steep and narrow rock walls up to 90 metres high. A network of easy-to-intermediate hiking trails, from 1 to 14 kilometres, leads to stunning panoramic views and a 63-metre high suspended footbridge, the highest in Quebec. Experience the descent to hell's gate: 300 steps leading down to the Riviere Rimouski - and back up again! At the far end of the trail system is the Chaud waterfall, another 20-metre cascade.A restaurant, a one-star campground and a 8.5-Kilometre bike path are also available for visitors to this magnificent natural site.

A very pleasant visit in a well marked pathway along the canyon des portes de l'enfer. We hit it in June where we were eaten by voracious mosquitoes in the parking lot but it somehow subsided to a bearable level when moving towards the waterfalls...More

This park/site is about a 20-30 drive from downtown Rimouski and is well worth the stop. There are several walks to do but our time was a bit limited so we only did two: Passerelle (suspension bridge) and the Descente aux enfers/300 marches. They are...More

Spent several hours here hiking both trails offered. Absolutely beautiful. Wear good footwear. Bring water and a snack. Lots of stairs and some some rugged terrain to walk on if you take the 5 km trail but worth every step. Takes about 2 to 3...More

We really enjoyed the quality of the trails and the level of difficulty. Sights are incredible and the trails are very well maintained. The roads to get there are bumpy and tiresome but worth it.

Nice trails, along (and down) the canyon. You could spend the full day hiking them, if you wanted to. Otherwise you can drive your car between the two main sites. If you go there with younger kids, you must get magic wands for the "Portes...More

Nice trails, wonderful suspension bridge, good activities for the kids. We had a wonderful day. The only (minor) downside would be mosquitoes (avoid June).
