we followed the manager of Gun Hill signal station to Wildey House so our friends could join the Barbados National Trust. Once there we were given a VIP tour by the director of the trust, what service, absolutely brilliant and extremely informative. Again this year the Natioal Trust open houses are providing a diverting visit to a new property every Wed. Afternoon. From Sandy Lane showplaces to a decommissioned prison that no one who wasn't a criminal has ever " toured", this year's program is terrific.

These tours run every Wed. Afternoon from Jan. to April. Each week is at a different location and there are vendors selling great jewellery, batiks, books and things like Tshirts to support the save the turtles project. This really is an amazing experience to be a part of if you enjoy a bit of adventure while on the Island. The National Trust have an extensive hiking schedule right across Barbados. Both local Bajans and tourists join in these weekly hikes either at 6am or 3.30pm. They also have full moon evening hikes at 5.30pm. Details of the... More
