Trieste & Miramare castle | Private trip from Ljubljana

From Ljubljana pass Postojna and Sezana to Trieste, we will stroll around where history and images of the past still live in the ruins, monuments, streets and buildings scattered around the city. We’ll reach its historical heart, the Capitol Hill, the site of the ancient Roman Ruins, which include the theatre, the forum and the Augustan Triumphal Arch. We’ll then admire the Castle and the Cathedral of San Giusto, the enchanting old town, the elegant seafront with exquisite palaces of remarkable architectural value, many in Neo-Classical style, and Italy’s largest square overlooking the sea, the Piazza Unità Square.

After discovering the heartbeat of this amazing Italian city we continue the tour, only a few kilometers from the city centre of Trieste, to the romantic castle of Miramare. Enshrined in the coastal rocks, it gives visitors the chance to admire the most enchanting sunsets!

The sand isn't great and the beach is covered with rubbish and drift wood. Most beach areas are private. I can't see why it is popular.

Spent a few hours relaxing at this beach and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are white sandy beaches and reasonably warm waters (for the time of year we visited, autumn/September). Given the number of deck chairs and umbrella stands around it appeared a very popular destination in the high season. Plenty of dogs around too :)

This is right in the center of Miramare. The beach has a forest of umbrellas and day beds , very affordable with a hotel voucher. The staff are polite and helpful and there is a choice of restaurants and bars, including one by the water open until midnight. The beach is crowded, but shallow and safe. There is plenty to do for kids and it is guarded. Good enough.
