Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very crowded, noisy beach. Went again on time of tide, saw many sea cucumbets, crabs and some fishes in the small puddles. Can’t recommend visit during the day, but night time was beautiful!

We have been to Calabria 3 times and after the first visit we always go back to this beach. It's very good and offers alternatives both for family members who want to sunbath/both/snorkle. We have had the same procedure the last 2 years. Rent a paddel boat and go North among the shore pass rocks and go to the next bay. This one isn't possible to reach (at least very difficult) by foot and therefore you are alone at the beach. There is also possibilities to take a boat taxi if you don't want the exercise.

Really beautiful beach. We were there in the middle of May, but water was already warm enough to swim. Water is crystal clear. In may this beach is really empty, but this is because Italians start going there only in July and not many foreigners visit this area.

We saw this beach from the 'belvedere' above, and we were amazed by the crystal blue water, so decided to spend the afternoon at this beach. We spent 10euros for the parking ( was happy still to find the last free place), then we arrived to the very crowded beach. Moreover, there are a lot of boats and pedal boats at the coast, just where people would like to enjoy the beach. The water is clean and not so deep, with different types of fish, and unfortunately medusa as well. Other disadvantage is that you have to pay for the shower, and for the toilet paper as well. It's worth renting a pedal boat, because the coast is relly nice. I think there are more beautiful places and better beaches in Calabria.

Grotticelle beach consists of 3 wonderful coves with fine, white sand. You can rent two sunloungers and an umbrella for € 10. There are a few bars where you can get snacks and drinks. Only downside: many merchants that are partially extremely persistent trying to sell their stuff. We were here mid of June and the beaches were half empty. I suppose it will be pretty crowded in July and August.

Beautiful Beach! I would like to go in June or September (and weekdays in July) BUT- stay away in August as it is just too crowded! Not worth the effort! ~~and no place to change at all..it is a beach for the local hotel crowd! (meaning = very little parking!)

Calabria is beautiful and this beach is a testimony of that. Chrystal clear not unlike what you expect to find in Sardinia but everything is cheaper. There are more than one management the one we appreciated the most, fixed prices that don't change depending on your accent is called "Onde Blu" blue wave. People are nice and the potential for this region is great.

Lovely beach coves but can get busy on a sunny day. Wonderful in the morning when it was empty! The car park was a tad congested when we tried to re visit in the afternoon!

Sight and beach are lovely, but we had too many medusa in beach proximity. The beach itself could be a little cleaner (too much garbage for a paid beach service).
