After finding Brimatours on trip advisor, I looked up their website.
After contacting Ivaldo bobs (who owns it) he offered to meet up and discuss the tour. Having seen what was on offer from our tour company (TUI), I asked just to go on Kirolo Day Tour.
I liked the fact you pay at the end of the tour, so the likelihood of an internet scam was low.
The tour started slightly late (about 10mins) but that siding overly bother me, whilst we waited in the hotel reception.
Ivaldo went through the itinerary and discussed we would go to all the agreed places, but it might be slightly out of sequence as it had rained over night.
After a short ride on a gravel road (we turned off the cobble road outside our hotel within 50m), we move to the back of the truck. We then went over and very sandy roads, where Ivaldo was drifting the truck. Surprisingly fun, and nerve wracking at the same time.
We arrived at a bay where a turtle is know to live and after a few minutes Ivaldo had spotted it, so from a point (maybe) 5m above we could watch the turtle swimming around. Also spotted some red snapper.
We looked out for sharks as well but didint spot them.
Next on to some caves where the locals like to come and spend their weekends.
Followed by what is claimed to be one of the top 5 beaches in the world for a swim. Boa Vista has some waves and currents, where we swam was behind a sandbank so the waves were no as powerful as they could have been.
Off to lunch, we some local knowledge on the way about farming , how the power is generated and water desalination.
At the oldest village, Ivaldo gave us some history of the town pirates and the hiding places people had to protect themselves and their belongs (from the pirates).
Lunch was at a small restaurant and we had fish, which was beautifully cooked, with salad and some cooked veg, including a beer and a taste of the local spirit.
After a walk round the village, we went to Rabil to a pottery shop where they make their own ornaments (a lot of ash trays).
The tour diverted again, as it was hot, so we went to Sal Rai, again getting information on the local history, a look in some tourist sales shops, and our request a supermarket (apparently expensive).
After this a trip to the shipwreck. Having seen the photos, it’ll be another 20 years and it will have disappeared. Again Ivaldo gave us the history, and the dangers that the islands are to ships, as there are a lot of wrecks around the island, just under sea level.
We finished the day off with a journey to the sand dunes where we sand boarded. It is fair to say, when you look over the top of the dune, no one wanted to try it. My daughter went first, so we went after here, yes it is a lot of fun, if you go , don’t be put off by how steep it looks.
As we drove back to the hotel, the whole family agreed what a great day out it was, even if we may have caught the sun a bit on the way.
We finished about 6pm , so the tour was nearly 9hours, Ivaldo did warn us that it takes as long as it takes, and it was worth every minute.

We did two day tours with Brimatours: the east coast and its sand dunes and beaches on the first day and the villages and nature and agriculture on the second. We spent two magical days with Bobs, our wonderful guide who shared his local perspective and his story with us. Bobs tailors a really private and exclusive experience and provides flexibility. He does not go from point A to point B, he really takes you on a journey around the island meeting local people and enjoying a slice of the local life. Beautiful sights, magical moments, and a glimpse of Cabo Verde life with someone who grew up here.
It was truly a unique experience and both days were incredible. We could not recommend Brimatours more.

Great experience with a great guide tour! Ivaldo (AKA Bob’s) is an amazing guy who shared a bit of Boa Vista good vibe. He shared his knowledge and knew great spots.

We visited unique, wonderful places and tasted the flavours of Cape Verde in local places, with Bob’s and Brimatours day and half day tours. Really felt that it has made all the difference to have a really good taste of what is Cape Verde. Highly recommended!

Absolutely brilliant trip on the Quad bikes highly recommend Would do it all again just to see this amazing place. Guides were really brilliant and made sure everything went well and looked after you.

We did the half day quad bike tour with these guys late Feb, ive got to say, we've done loads over the years around the world, this takes some beating. Very good value for money, stunning experience, excellent guides, highly recommended

Great way to see what the island has to offer and we chose the 2 hour buggy tour which was fun filled with amazing views! We had a stop half way through, photos were taken professionally on the tour and a choice to purchase at the end with absolutely no pressure.

We had a fantastic day at Santa Monica Beach at the charming beach bar. Lobster meal was spectacular and excellent value for money. Evandro was a brilliant and obliging host. We have visited Boa Vista before and had other great trips with brimatours. Would definitely recommend the company
