The Laguna the Guatavita is a great day out if you want to escape the caos of Bogota. We arrived there after visiting the town of Guatavita which is very picturesc. (10000Cop from Portal del Norte, Bogota) . Be warned tho. There are several tour companies that will charge you an unecesary amount to go to the laguna. If you... More

First of all please feel free to ask me any questions about this. I will reply promptly. The major downside of this place is actually getting to it by yourself. Buses or car/taxi, with a walk. I would recommend a basic tour from Bogotá cuts hassle and time. An English guide would be nice but you could easily read up... More

The nature is beautiful, history is all over the place and the myth of El Dorado unravels! What else one could ask for?

Went there with Bogota and Beyond and found it well worth the walk as high up of course so if you get short of breath easily probably inadvisable. I am 65 and have asthma and managed it fine. A unique feel to it.

When you reach here, you would have to wait for a viable group to be formed to justify a guide. Unfortunately, when we reached there, the group that got formed had a guide who spoke only Spanish. I am sure his commentary was interesting because in between there were a few twitters of laughter from the group. However, since the... More

Great ecological park with an about 2 hour complete tour with a natural forest walk and arrival to the lagoon. The tour is very well guided with profesionals who have studied very well the history of the lagoon and give a very detailed and interesting lesson on it. The walk is a bit long but it is worth it to... More

What a nice place to visit!!! The attraction beyond any infrastructure (park) is the mystic air, the landscape is gorgeous. You can feel your inner self getting along with nature. All this experience is well led by the local CAR guides. Come with your Colombian friends, it is in Spanish.
