- Somerset321Ilminster, United Kingdom97 contributionsPleasant stop offVisited in April, and the gardens were looking lovely with lots of purple wisteria mixed in with some other flowers. The views are fantastic from the Archilles statue. As others have said, the museum was closed, and there was building work going on, but this was not obtrusive on the parts of the garden we walked in. Back in the UK our local National Trust place has their house closed for building work and still charges people £13 to enter just the gardens! We didn’t feel ripped off paying 5 euros, as others have commented. It was a nice stop for us on a drive around the coast. Not sure it's worth paying for a trip specifically to see the place, or taking a long walk to see.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 6 April 2024
- pita92Meudon, France357 contributionsDisappointmentWe were disappointed by the visit to the garden alone. It is certainly flowery, but we do not feel the presence of Sissi... We came there 20 years ago and we have wonderful memories of an enchanting place. Probably the restoration work? 5€ is very expensive! Wait for the work to finish!Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 May 2024
- Cheryl TMelkbosstrand, South Africa466 contributionsAchilleon Palace GardensThe palace still closed for renovation since 2019. The gardens are worth visiting with an exceptional view over the city. The blue line bus visits the site. The entry could be reduced as the palace closed but still €15 pp.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 7 June 2024
- rita gHofstade, Belgium84 contributionsAchilleion palace is under restorationwe went to Archilleion Sissi palace just above Corfu Town by public transport we could not visit the villa as it was under restoration. the villa was very neglected, why did they let it get to this point? It is already one of the top 10 things to do in Corfu in all the tourist books what a disappointment Then we visited the gardens, not too big but beautiful with beautiful views understandable that Sissi wanted to stay thereVisited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 June 2024
- Rosie C24 contributionsVery pretty gardens, house remains closedLovely to stroll around the gardens for an hour checking out the many neoclassical statues plus a spectacular view over Corfu Town. It's scenic even if you have no interest in Sisi and more interesting if you do. It's 5 euros entry at the moment. The house itself is closed for restoration and shows no sign of opening any time soon. There are maybe 2 flights of stairs to climb, it's not hard to get around. The cafe next door has Sisi themed books and souvenirs. Bus 10 takes about 25 minutes from Corfu Town, leaving from a stop near Sarocco Square (ask at the ticket office or look for the sign). This is a blue local bus - not the intercity KTEL green bus, though bus 10 does stop at the green bus terminal on the way. The bus goes to Achilleon as its main destination and has a screen inside showing current and upcoming stops, it was maybe 6 euro return. Also nice to get into the hills, it's quite green and cooler.than Corfu Town.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 14 June 2024
- Merike TEstonia115 contributionsUnder renovation, garden accessible only!We would love to see the inside of the building, but it's closed! They are renovating it. You can only access the garden and have to pay the entrance fee still. Its a bit cheaper though compared to when its fully opened. But do your research first when planning to visit the site and want to explore the indoors as well.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 June 2024
- Tata164Milan, Italy70 contributionsWho knows how nice it will be inside (?)I gave 3 points because only the gardens are open to the public. They are beautiful, you can enjoy a magnificent view but it is also time they completed the restoration of the Palace. Sono anni che è chiuso e ancora non se ne vede la fine!!!! The gardens are worth seeing but don't expect a park, in half an hour you can see everyoneVisited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 July 2024
- philip135Leuven, Belgium119 contributionsWe expected more from this "historic" place. We were very disappointed when visiting this Museum. For starters, the building is closed. It still looks disconsolate surrounded by building material and such . nothing of glory .The garden you can visit provided the payment of 5 euros but also here is not very much care taken . The entire domain does need a thorough embellishmentVisited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 July 2024
- Alessia G11 contributionsDecadentYou can only visit the outside of the building, unfortunately decadent even that. The interior is being restored (since 2021).. a real shame, because seeing the photos the interior is worth a visit. As previously mentioned the exterior is decadent, with scaffolding and various cables exposed. The gardens are nice, but they deserve more care. In half an hour you will have seen everything, ticket cost € 5. I hope to return having the opportunity to see the inside...Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 July 2024
- Marina S15 contributionsVery goodGreat palace garden, a must in Corfu. Admission 5 € the palace is being renovated, is therefore closed. Parking however difficult as you can imagine. 100 meters down the road there are parking spaces on the right. The palace garden has wonderful views and architecture.a dream.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 9 July 2024

The gardens were absolutely stunning - the art, the plants and the views are definitely worth seeing. It’s a great place to hang out and rest at. There were cute cats strolling around. The ice cream next to the souvenir store was really good. However, since the palace is still under restoration and the garden is quite small, 5€ felt like too high of an entrance fee. If you want to go there by bus, be cautious. We got there with no problems by CityBus, line 10, but the way back was difficult. The bus goes infrequently and ours didn’t come at all, we had to walk all the way down to Kaiser Beach and take another bus from there. We saw many lizards on our way down so that was nice :)

We only visited the gardens of this building at a cost of € 5 per person since the interior was closed... under renovation. Surely next time we will ask the ticket office why there are few tourists. The gardens and statues are beautiful, but we were disappointed because we could not visit the inside of the palace of Empress Elizabeth of Austria.

3rd time the palace (internal) is closed (working account) for the public and you can only visit the gardens (5€ ticket per person) . It's sad to see so many scales around. But gardens compensate you in beauty. The best part of all is at the end you see the statue of Achilles. Just amazing.

The visit was disappointing. The palace is completely abandoned inside and out. Inside it was yuppie, nothing to do with the pictures on the internet and it was closed, we saw it through the locked windows. It was a ruin really. A shame to say the least. And the outside space was also not well-kept. You pay a regular ticket and even children over 5 years old to tour the gardens for 5-10 minutes. You go abroad and everything is organized and neat and here it is abandoned and abandoned.

You pay 5 Euro admission for a little maintained park, the building is closed for renovations. Plants are mostly ailing, poorly maintained. It has been built there since 2018, none of which is visible, so far it seems that not even the facade has been restored. Except the magnificent view of Corfu city and the Pantokrator little attractive. Only the statues on the upper gallery seem cleaned and spiced up, but the stairs to them are very questionable.

Abandoned and completely ruined! Access only to the exterior spaces which are also neglected, without a trace of maintenance and care. The price of the ticket for such a service is unacceptable and it should be noted that children over the age of 5 pay a full ticket when in much more important museums and historical attractions children's entry is free! We found no substance in the visit other than the location which, as usual in similar buildings, palaces, etc., has an excellent view and natural beauty!

Spent an hour here as part of an excursion. The building itself was closed for restoration, and was basically a building site. Since its function as casino ended, it has been lacking TLC and the cracks were literally showing, I'm sure it'll be great when finished!
It has an interesting history, albeit only covering about 130 years, culminating in its use as a location for the Roger Moore Bond film 'For Your Eyes Only'. I'll have to watch it again. The forest trails are out of bounds but we could stroll through some of the terraced gardens dotted with sculptures, the most notable being the depictions of Achilles, whether dying in marble or striking an heroic pose in bronze. Beneath the latter, there was a fantastic panoramic view towards Corfu Town.
Be aware that there are plenty of steps from the entrance to the palace itself, which can be tiring on a hot day, especially in the morning when the sun blazed from the east.

First and foremost, the interior of the palace is currently closed due to restoration work that was supposed to be completed in October 2023. It is only the garden to visit. (Normal entrance fee per person 5€ - we were free due to a disability card).
The garden itself, does not have much to offer. The flowers are more withered. Any tubes everywhere. Many stones from the roadside were broken.
Not nicely groomed. The building looks very run-down. The paths are easily accessible, except for a few stairs. The only thing that was nice was the view over the city (you get this view in many other corners also in Corfu).
The large statue at the end of the palace also looked very powerful, but still not worth this 5€...
So okay with us because we came in for free, but otherwise definitely not worthwhile at the moment.

We read the other reviews before going so it wasn't a huge surprise that the palace/museum itself was closed off. Still found it a bit disappointing, it was sad to see what could be an amazing attraction fall into such disrepair. You are essentially paying for a viewing platform that looks over Corfu old town and the airport. The gardens are very small and again, bits taped off and random building materials lying around. In general, just a shame of what it is, and what it could be.

We went up on foot among the olive groves,, in the morning, with a silver-colored sea below us; the Achilleion appears as a neoclassical dream co but... the interior you can not 'visit, work in progress... since about 2020...! The park is worth the effort to climb, a paradise of the gods, a real charm that remains in the eyes and heart! Too bad that the general state of the building, peeling walls, falling plasters and more denote a "carelessness that dates back long before the beginning of restoration and work seems completely stopped. Preserving the beauty we own should be a duty.

Hi the roads are winding but if coming up from Corfu Town side there will be no issues as this route is through small villages, coming up from Perma side there a couple of open areas but nothing major that should worry you small drops but not scary. Hope you enjoy
