We drove every day to Platja de Formentor. Had a great time under the straw sun umbrellas which kept all of the sun off. The water is crystal clear and the beach isn't too busy, busy, but not crazy busy. Strongly recommend

I cycled from Port du Pollenca to Cap de Formentor and that was a lovely ride and avoided the massive tailback of motorists. You would need to be a reasonably fit cyclist though. An alternative might be to hire motor... More

You will need to hire a car, it's about a 1hr drive from Palma. You could look at buses but it would be a long (and hot) journey. There is no charge to take in the views.
