Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing views, perfect to visit during spring and summer (September to March). Beautiful and various hiking trails, different difficulties while staying totally safe. Great place to spend a day in, have a picnic, and listen to the nature sounds

Our hosts at El Relax Hostal loaned us their Subte Card to take Bus #7(7 Ap each) from the southeast corner of Parque San Martin. The winding route through Salta and then San Lorenzo made it a one hour trip. The exit is at the actual Quebrada de San Lorenzo where the rushing stream passes by the Aguas del Norte Plant.
We walked up the trail until realizing the best pathway is the road where the horses go. In a km, we needed to ford the stream to proceed to the Mirador, but we did not have the proper footwear, so we returned to walk back to town. The shaded lane was downhill, filled with the sounds of birds, and fronted by many large beautiful summer homes, including the 1800's El Castillo de San Lorenzo.
After passing a bank ATM and several restaurants, we came to a covered bus stop to catch Bus #7(every 10 minutes) for the ride back to Salta. This is a perfect "good weather" outing for exploring nature and the shaded lanes of upscale San Lorenzo.

This is outside downtown Salta, roughly 20 to 25 minute drive. The town of San Lorenzo is pretty. the Quebrada (stream) is a park, there is a parking area, and its accessible by bus. There is a restaurant and a market to buy local handmade goods for tourist. You can wonder around the green foliage and see water creeks. That is about it.

Nice place to wander in nature and see the cloud forest. A few toursity bits at the entrance - but actually quite nice to be able to east and drink nearby. Trekking and horseriding are available if you like.
The place is a bit disappointing as it claims to be a private reserve and signs ask you to respect nature and only go with a guide. But this doesn't seem to be the case and it is open to the public and you can just walk in. So there is also quite a lot of rubbish and damage to plants and the hillside from people climbing around, picking things ad making a bit of a mess.

I went there because it was close to my hotel. It was ok, not a great thing to see. Perhaps because there wasn´t any water in the river at the time I went.

Be prepared to pay for car parking at this very busy spot. There are many good restaurants on the road up to it.

Our group drove out from Salta to visit in the early evening. We were given a half hour. Most people were ready to head back within 15M. That being said, the group is not that adventurous. I walked into the woods a bit and over the barely trickling stream. It did not strike me as good use of time.

This is a lovely little spot a little ways away from Salta, good for a half day trip. It’s very accessible via public transportation, we took the 7 bus from Salta’s center with no problem at all. The Reserve is quite large with various unmarked paths so one could spend quite a lot time hiking around with varying degrees of success. We attempted to find the Mirador, lookout spot, but after 2 hours of walking in the wrong direction we called it quits. But we met a handful of other hikers who were on the same wrong path as us. There are extremely faded yellow arrows that may lead to the Mirador, but the rest of the park is quite pretty. Ended with some empanadas and juice at the local cafe next to the stream, great way to finish. This is a nice nature spot outside of Salta that is much closer and cheaper than other touristy day trips.

From the center you can go by bus line 7 that says San Lorenzo, buy a saeta card, it costs 1000 pesos and load money, the ticket costs 110 pesos.
Nice path, when you reach the ravine there is a grill place and tables to have a delicious meal, a tourist office with a 6oo meter route through the jungle, many colorful birds and butterflies, businesses to buy handicrafts.....a few blocks away There is the reserve and a museum, as we went with small children we did not get there but they say it is beautiful!

Buenas!

Saludos!
