The Swiss Path is a great hiking trail 35 km long, broken into sections with varying degrees of difficulty and lengths. You can take a hike as short as 40 minutes or as long as you'd like. The Path is located at the end of Lake Lucerne in an area called the Urnersee. One day we took the short hike... More

Want to take a great hike while in Lucerne? This is it! Gorgeous scenery, well marked trails, and view that will leave you breathless. Thus is it. Bring your hiking shoes, walking stick and a camera.

Did this full walk over two days and loved it. Well signposted, great views and a wonderful sense of achievement The first couple of hours and last couple were fairly tough but other that that very manageable, would recommend.

My husband and I hiked the whole path in two days and it was just wonderful. The views from every part of it are excellent, and the paths are well marked with very accurate time predictions for how long each portion will take. We took the 10am boat from lucerne to rutli on the first day, hiked until 7 or... More

This is a great path to walk around the lake. You do need time to take the walk and thoroughly enjoy the scenery so make sure you don't schedule your time too tightly!

If one has time, loves nature and long walks, that's a nice way to enjoy greenery and lakeviews while learning something about the history of the Swiss Confederation.

We did the Swiss path now several times. Not all of it at one go, but several times with several directions and sections. The area of the Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne) is one of the most attractive sceneries in Switzerland. We usuall went to our starting point by train, did our hiking and caught a cruise boat back to Lucerne.

Very nice 2-hour walk down from Seelisberg to Bauen. Came back by boat to the Rütli (Grütli) where Switzerland was founded in 1291. From Rütli to Seelisberg, it is a nice 1h30 steep uphill walk. There is a cable train from Seelisberg to Treib and steam boats to Lucerne.
