Definitely helps to have some sort of overview or map of the site explaining what everything is. We didn't, but we sort of trailed along a tour group, listening to the guide's explanation. It really added to the experience

The lady at the TI did not mark it. We saw a sign on the road. The are working on the restoration and one day it might make it into Unesco. Definitely stop

We saw the sign to this place on the road in Kanfanar and decided to find out what it was. The ruins of what appears to be the remains of a medieval city, are absolutely worth visiting. The little path's in between are not always...More

How great is was to be here by ourselves on a beautiful fall morning. Wonderful atmosphere, breathtaking views, no admission to pay, no souvenir stands. Also no refreshments or restrooms, but you can't go far in Istria without finding a friendly konoba, so that is...More

We stopped to look around this medieval village on our way to Lim Fford. Lovely to find somewhere relatively quiet - only us and a couple of others, probably as it is a little off the beaten track. Interesting remains which we were free to...More

Very interesting historical site. Well worth a visit with a very engaged and knowledgeable guide at Taverna Moncastell. Amazing how much history there is to tell. And don't forget a lunch at the taverna.

Set just a few miles off the main highway through Istria, the ruins of this large town, abandoned for over 300 years, are spectacular. Dvigrad (or Due Castelli in Italian) means two towns, and the ruins are extensive, only slowly revealing themselves as you wander...More

Still appears on good conditions. Perfect to visit in the good weather. Little bit windy after 3 o'clock. Perfect place to have pictures

I can't believe how few people visit this place, however that's probably what makes it so special! It's much bigger than I expected, in a beautiful location, and really interesting. Well worth a visit!
