Don't take the unpaved road!

Some way before the monastery we took a left turn after seeing a handwritten sign to Preveli beach. This was a huge mistake as the road is unpaved and very poor (and it is a long... read more

Spent a week in Crete, saw a few different beaches- this one was the most beautiful one by far. Worth a drive and a short walk down to the beach and back up.

We visited this place it was very easy to find it. The road to the beach and to the palm forest is a bit tiring like 10-15 min walking but it's definitely worthing it. We made very pretty photos there and the waters are crystal blue! For sure we will come back!...

This beach is very disappointing - even in October, there were crowds of people, boats constantly arriving, so been spoilt with commercialism. Not worth visiting if you like peace and quiet or don't like crowds.

Preveli Beach was breathtaking. The views from the cliff top were amazing. The walk from the car park to the beach is about a km down (and back up). There are at least 400-500 uneven steps, so beware and be careful. Once at the beach we were a little disappointed. The sand was grey and pebbly, not the white sand... More

I fell in love with this location just from reading and seeing travelers photos. Being there was far more powerful, especially in mid October. The place was almost empty. We walked the palm canyon near the sweet water creek. We were the only ones there and it was an amazing experience. we walked, swam, jumped from rocks to the water... More

A stunning view! This Beach is worth the travel. You can choose going by boat OR you have to park your car just a few km. Away And walk for 15 min.

Some way before the monastery we took a left turn after seeing a handwritten sign to Preveli beach. This was a huge mistake as the road is unpaved and very poor (and it is a long way). I'd avoid this at all costs unless you have a 4x4. Stay on the paved road and you get there much more easily.... More

Been here numerous times , Preveli beach is a scenic place , there is a river that enters the sea ... palm trees all the way up . A good little canteen/ tavern on the beach serves good souvlaki and other nibbles. Dog friendly as well

I did some homework before traveling to Preveli Beach (family of 6) regarding the recommended way to get there and what to do. First of all – this is the best beach I visited during my stay at Crete. The combination of a beach and the presence of a sweet water way (gorge) flowing into the sea and a great... More

On our motorbyke trip we first arrived to Plakias Beach from Rethymnon on a secondary road of about 40 kilometers which goes from north to the south of the island after passing through Kotsifou Canyon ; from Plakias Beach the road is climbing pretty steeply to Plakias Monastery ; although the road is good, much attention is needed as the road...
