Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are basic huts and camping in the olive groves. The facilities are nonexistent. Food from the owner is erratic. Beware, he is also erratic. Lovely place though! Peaceful and off the beaten track. Real Greece!

Nice quiet "unorganized" beach (meaning no umbrellas etc.). Worth exploring if you have the time. 10 minutes on a dirt road north of the town gets you there

We very much enjoyed visiting this beach and there is a good walking trail to follow from Diafani. A spring there is a great source of fresh drinking water.

We were on our way back to Pigadia (we rented a car), from visiting Olympus and one of the straff of Atlantis Hotel (in Pigadia) adviced us to find this beach. She was from Diafani and recommended this Beach - when we finally arrived at the beach - we were close to Paradise:-)
There is no taverna there, so drinks and food have to wait, or pack a picnicbag.
You should go to this beach🌞

People staying in Diafani have several possibilities to go for a swim: there are good rocks to get into the sea, a few very tiny beaches whose access often involves a bit of climbing, and just 3 beaches of some size. Easiest to approach is the not too bad pebble beach in Diafani itself, but this is more of a place to use for a swim and not to hang around.

Definitely better it is to put on some sneakers and walk the 30 minutes on a marked path, alternating between a small gravel road and a lovely old path in a northern direction to Vananda Beach. One could also drive there, but it would be a pity to miss that walk.

The beach itself is in a beautiful area, surrounded by mountains and pine forests. On the beach itself are some tamarisk trees for shade. There is no sand, just pebbles and some larger stones in between. Being quite popular, also with locals, nudism is not well seen here.

Above the beach are two chapels: Agioi Anargyroi (open) and further back Panagia, which makes for a nice little extra-hike. I have also come to Vananda from two other directions. Just behind the beach is a fountain with running water, from where a path starts through giant reed first up to the hamlet of Avlona (best to do it the other way around and start in Avlona). A pretty tough walk to Vananda, lasting several hours, is along the coastal cliffs coming from the island's northernmost point around Tristomo.

Swimmers, who prefer to leave their bathing-suit at the hotel, will go from Diafani in the other direction (south) to the Papa Minas Beach, the most attractive of all. Since this is a 90 minutes walk, it is much less frequented (approach by 4x4 would also be possible). Here too the walk alternates between a small field road and a lovely old path. At the beach again some shade is provided by nearby trees.

Except for the one in Diafani none of these beaches is organised: no umbrellas, no sunbeds and no food or water for sale.

By far one of the best beaches i've been in my life. Clear, crystal blue water with pebbles. Quiet, some natural shade.

Very quiet beach, not too far from Diafani, about 40 min by foot, and 10 by car. There is no taverna there.
