Overview
More
The name "Olhos d'Agua" is derived from various underwater freshwater springs that flow into the sea, along the beach, the sand and rocks. Only visible when it is low tide. These famous "olheiros" gave the town its name. A phenomenon of rare beauty and a major tourist attraction. Here settled Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and Romans, who practiced fishing and developed salting and drying of fish. It is a tradition go to olheiros and taste the water.

Small sandy beach reached by long flights of steps. It's main attraction are rock pools where you can see small fish and shrimps when the tide is out, excellent for children.

These spots are amazing and worth a visit to Olhos d'Agua beach (they are the origin of the village name!) and can be best observed when the tide is low if you are visiting the area! A must see!!!
