This lake is amazing. The lake and the surroundings are so green, so relaxing. Nice track to go down there. If you are lucky (we were) you can spend some time own your own and meditate on beautiful nature.

Stumbled across the lake whilst taking a drive. A short drive down a bumpy road then a short hike downhill through the woods. It is well worth the short detour if you are passing for the lovely views and photo opportunities. Very peaceful without hoards...More

Short hike in an extremely beautiful and lush forest. Parking lot is right next to trail head which is easy to follow. In the end you will be rewarded by tranquility in a wonderful setting.

I really loved this lake. There's a walk down then the most beautiful, serene area with just the sounds of nature. It's the opposite of build up and I hope it stays that way. You can drive all the way along the bumpy track to...More

This lake is a small mostly green lake surrounded by gorgeous trees. It is quite a hike down to the lake from the road. The road is also unpaved for about 1 km or less. The hike was mostly downhill there and then obviously a...More

We parked by the road and followed the farmer’s road for about 10 minutes until we came to the lake sign. Then we hiked down a forest path for about 15minutes. It was very nice and lush. We arrived at the lake and enjoyed the...More

This place made me feel (again, like in the Garden of Furnas) like in the cartoon Princesse Mononoké. The lake is beautiful, but the wild nature on your way is like a dream: soft silence, birds singing...we were carrying our kids (9 months and 4...More

The promenade is itself a special voyage towards the center of an old vulcano. when you reach the bottom, you face a serene lagoon with warm water, where you can swim. What a place!

Lagoa do Congro is a beautiful secluded lake, hidden from view. The hike is short, about 15-20mins. No swimming allowed, but I think some locals do it in summer. It is too cold to swim anyway in winter! Definitely worth the hike.

It’s a beautiful area... takes a few minutes to get down there and is decently steep on the way back up. But, completely worth the effort!
