Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lot of work has gone into providing this promenade which is directly beneath the Cabo Girao skywalk. No facilities so you need to take a picnic if you are planning to stay a while. Super to see the farmer working hard watering his crops while we were there and fishermen.

If you visit the viewpoint at Cabo Girao and venture onto the glass platform you might wonder if it's possible to reach the beach below. Well it is!

There is a cable car (Teleférico) from Camara de Lobos to Faja do Rancho beach and, although the staff at our resort said 'it's only for locals', we decided to go and see for ourselves. The easiest way to find it is to locate the Restaurant Teleferico on Estrada de Sta Clara as the station is opposite. The return fare is €5.

The cable car carries you down to the beach where there is a path which takes you beside the farmers' fields in both directions. You can see Cabo Gairo at the top of the cliff to your right. We just wandered and sat, ate our lunch, took some photos and enjoyed the peace. There are no facilities at the bottom so you might want to use the toilet at the cable car station before you descend.

We had decided to walk into the town from Cabo Gairo (down 3000 steps) and the Restaurant Teleferica is just a short detour from this route. Fajo do Rancho beach really needs to be combined with a visit to Caro Girao so you can see the view from the top and the bottom.

Looking down from cabo girao you see this quiet beach far below. Just for fun - as we did - take the cable car down and spend an hour watching the sea.

Only accessible by cable car or Teleférico (tickets available on top, where there is a nice sightseeing place, a restaurant and a bar), the Fajã do Rancho is a wonderful and original place to visit. Not too big, one hour is enough, but the quietness, the energy of the place is something to be felt and difficult to describe.

What a view! Great beach with natural agricultural areas! Especially beautiful to see from the viewing platform.
