Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The viewing platform here is so high up above the valley floor it stirred a level of vertigo in me that I didn't know I had. Despite that, the view is almost unbeatable. Combined with the facilities available here, I'd say its a must do.

This tour is definitely recommended. The Nuns Valley is just breathtaking. Camara De Lobos is a pretty little fishing village and great to see the locals enjoying their surroundings.

Staff is AMAZING!! Do not have a single thing to complain about. The guy at the reception was super nice to us and even spoke a bit of French. The room was big and clean, well isolated. The buffet is not big but enough. Other than that, staff was super helpful and always smiling 🙂 Love it !!

This place is the second Miradouro we have stopped at, on our tour of Nun's Valley (with Madeira Happy Tours). Like in most of the Miradouros - you may enjoy here the wild beauty of mountains and the stunning colorful flora of the island. Bring your cameras of coarse !!

We stopped here on a cruise ship excursion for a snack and a drink at the small café / gift shop and had some free time to explore the viewing area which is accessed via a sloping path with a few steps leading up from behind the café and parking area.

It was reasonably easy walking up to the main viewing site, took around 5-10 minutes each way, and the views were well worth the effort. Note that the visibility can change quickly due to passing clouds as you are pretty high up in the mountains, but with a bit of luck and patience there are some amazing sights to admire.

If you are in this part of Madeira and the weather is good it is really worth a stop, and why not enjoy a snack and a sample of Madeira wine in the café!

Great viewpoint for seeing the Valley of the Nuns. We saw it midday when it wasn't in the shadow of the crater wall.

Stopped here as part of a MBTours half day excursion (although we have visited before). The walk to the viewing point is not too steep and it’s a decent path. From the top you get fantastic views down to the town far below and across the valley looking at patches of cloud drifting along. There’s a large cafe/bar by the car park and you get almost as good views from the back terrace if you don’t want to walk to the viewpoint. From here you can walk down to the village, which takes under two hours along the old road (but no doubt a lot longer back up!). A hotel and large souvenir shop are also in the same parade as the cafe.

One of the most beautiful miradours in Madeira
To get to the viewing deck there is a short climb on a well paved trail, but when you reach the deck you are left speechless with the remarkable views to the valley and the surrounding mountains
I also suggest to look at the beautiful plants on the hill side when going down
At the start point there are some shops, but they seem to be tourist traps, selling food and souvenirs at high prices

Nice view of Curral Das Freiras. Easily reachable by car or by tour bus. There are some shops nearby and a hotel.
