- happy01Bedfordshire16 contributionsBeautiful Troulos beach!During our recent holiday we spent many days on beautiful Troulos beach. Lovely clean beach with fabulous views, plenty of sunbeds, a great hotel and some lovely beach-side tavernas. Highly recommend.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 May 2023
- Jeanette H34 contributionsBeautifulLovely sandy beach. Clear water easy to get in and out. Lots of beds but taken very early . Beds in front of hotel are nice . Have to pay in the hotel reception to use these 12e for 2 beds and umbrella. No loud music playing so peaceful. Taverns in need of update food not great . Lunch in front of hotel nice. Can get drinks and icecream from bar next to hotel. Use the toilets in the hotel as the toilets behind the troubles taverna leaves a lot to be desiredVisited June 2023Written 25 June 2023
- Donna DGreater Sydney, Australia27 contributionsLovely Troulos beachBeautiful beach with umbrellas and sun lounges. We arrived at 1pm and unfortunately they were all taken. We found some shade at the southern end of the beach so all was good. There were 3 tavernas and plenty of choices. The water was clean, clear and very safe for families. The bus stop is 20 and it is a short flat walk to the beach. Highly recommend.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 July 2023

A few fish and seagrass was nice to see as well. Enough sunbeds if you got there by 11 but not so many you could not see the beach like Koukounaries. A taverna behind for lunch too.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 July 2023
- MabherickLeeds, United Kingdom142 contributionsSmall but lovely!Lovely sandy beach with fish coming right up to the shoreline - ideal for snorkelling even in the shallows. Plenty of sun beds but they fill up fast! We took a parasol and some towels down and made our own spot. Alternatively probably head down by 9am ish to be assured of a sun bed. Head to the right (as you face the sea) to find the fresh water pool with terrapins in. A really lovely beach.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 August 2023

A beautiful beach a short walk from the village of Troulos, clear waters and easy to get in the sea. The beach bars were good as well. Definitely check this gem out if you are in Skiathos.

Lovely beach and gentle shelving but it was very busy in July, I imagine it would be perfect in June or September. The sun-beds were very, very close together.

One of the most beautiful beaches on Skiathos (my second :). Quiet and suitable for relaxation. Fine sand, beautiful and clean water, several taverns and cafes with good service. For all recommendation!

Hello
My friend and I are looking to stay in Troulos from 14th - 21st September, in accommodation which is close to the beach. Would this be classed as 'out of season'? We're both in our 30s, looking for a relaxing holiday to enjoy the beach (hopefully not too busy), mix with locals, enjoy the food at different restaurants and maybe do a couple of boat trips. But, I read somewhere that most places in the area close from mid-September. Is this true? We don't mind it being quiet, but don't want it to be dead either!
We also won't have a car. Will we be able to see/do things without one? We're happy to use public transport.
Thanks so much for your help.

Definitely not out of season, recommend Astoria Hotel small and friendly. Around 18 restaurant/tavernas within walking distance. Do try Ambrose and Nectar the views are amazing as is the food . Lovely laid back area right near lovely beach and bus stop 5mins walk

Are there any nice busy bars, with good atmosphere and maybe music? anywhere in skiathos?

Yes. All along the Skiathos main port is great music and nice bars! Some nights you can find live music. They are busy every night and you’ll find one that fits you. Troulos beach has some live music there on certain nights. If you do go to Troulos, go to Sunrise Bar Taverna and you’ll find a hidden gem of great food, atmosphere and live Greek music! Check for the night going though. Good luck and have fun!
Thinking of going to troulous late August. We both in our late forties and looking for a quiet relaxing break but notice skathios is know for young lively crowd.

If you stay in Troulos it’s not like that at all, maybe in Skiathos town but certainly not in Troulos, try Troulos Bay Hotel or Astoria Hotel both with Thomas Cook

Christakis sports bar is the name of the taverna which I'm sure ran quiz nights mentioned earlier in these answers, it's about 500 metres back off the beach and is listed on trip advisor so you should be able to find it

As other answers say take the local bus into Skiathos town (2 euros) and then take a boat from the harbour to a round island tour, or over the Skopelos for Mama Mia tour. make sure boat is going to the island and you have to pay extra to see church. Sometimes you cant land on the relevant side of island for Mama Mia trip due to weather conditions or whatever. We enjoyed the round island trip immensely. If you are crazy about Mama Mia visit the outdoor show cinema just beyond the harbour for an hilarious experience.
