- ericanjenHawkhurst, United Kingdom151 contributionsQuiet, relaxing and excellent beachSecond visit to Troulos. A very relaxing pace of life with several Tavernas and small supermarkets scattered around. No real center to the resort and this may be the only fault with it. The main road runs through Troulos so some of the restaurants and shops can only be reached walking along this road. It's worth investigating the side roads and footpaths as some of the tavernas can't be seen from the road. The beach is a short walk down a lane and is a nice safe sandy beach with plenty of sun loungers and a few small beach tavernas at one end. The bus run through Troulos with several bus stops and this can take you the length of the island for about 3 euros and the buses run quite frequently.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 January 2024
- Anya B8 contributionsLovely sandy beachNice sandy beach and the sea although cold is easy to get in and you can walk a way out before it gets deep. Very clear and you can see little fishes swimming. The sun beds that are part of the hotel will charge €12 for 2 reclining padded sunbeds and umbrella. No option for 1 person. I didn't try the other sunbeds that weren't padded. You can also get food from the hotel and use the toilet.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 13 May 2024
- Iainthomas39Brighton, United Kingdom364 contributionsLovely beach, lots of space. We love this beach. Great scenery, good sunbeds and parking. There are a couple of standard (but nice) beach cafes with good food and a third that’s part of a hotel which is more of a restaurant. We went twice this year and once last.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 May 2024
- LovetolunchPlymouth, United Kingdom169 contributionsQuiet and cleanWe visited a few days ago. There were sun beds available but we chose to use our towels for the time we planned to stay there. A really lovely beach bar , I couldn’t have happily dozed off with my beer I felt so relaxed with the chill Out tunes that were being played! The sand is a little shingley but fine to walk onVisited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 June 2024
- Vodkacola23Bristol, United Kingdom61 contributionsLovely Beach! At last, a beach with reasonably priced sunbeds (€12 for two plus parasol) and plenty of them! These sunbeds were more like we’re used to, as you weren’t really close to your neighbour (as at Koukanaries beach and Megali Ammos beach). The beds could be moved around as the sun moved and the beach was wide. The sea shelved very slightly and there were lots of amenities and water sports available. Of course, this makes it a very popular beach, so get there early!Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 June 2024
- ElakarThe Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, United Kingdom86 contributionsBeautiful sandy beachBeautiful beach, €12 for two sun beds and an umbrella. You have to go into the hotel to pay for your beds. The beach was stunning, lovely sand which did get very hot to walk on with crystal clear calm water to cool off in! Lunch at the hotel was very good too.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 July 2024
- kristina pSofia, Bulgaria105 contributionsA few days in Troulos beachA nice beach with larger sand, crystal clear sea, also suitable for children. There are areas with umbrellas and sunbeds, in one place you pay 12 euros at the reception in the Troulos bay hotel for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella, and the other area is managed by a tavern and the Trulos cafe and costs 20 euros. Most sunbeds on the first and second rows are reserved with beach towels from early and after 10:00 a.m. you will hardly find a place. The beach is nice, but it is quite dirty, it is not cleaned and people do not look after it, and not enough trash cans. The umbrellas are quite small and do not provide enough shade, some of the sunbeds are old, others are not maintained and I don't think that the price of 20 euros is deserved....Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 July 2024
- Simona9 contributionsSunny beachIt is a very nice beach and especially if you go earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon you can really enjoy. But if you go in the middle of the day, around 11 a. m. - 3 p. m. at that time the sun is often very strong. And at that time of the day shades under the trees are crowded and are not very spacious so there is almost no chance that you will find a comfortable place under the tree. There are sun umbrellas but if you plan to spend your whole day under them, be prepared to move your sunbads pretty often as the sun moves on the sky and the shade moves because of it. But if you like to spend time in the sun this is a beach for youVisited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 6 August 2024
- PJStathamSwinton, United Kingdom46 contributionsGood local beachWe visited this beach several times during our 2 week stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are sun beds and parasols and plenty of space if you just want to sit on your towel. On one visit we saw 4 swans and a pig being taken for a swim. There are a few tavernas on the beach - would recommend Troulos Bay tavern for drinks and Parallia for foodVisited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 August 2024
- Culture456932614354 contributionsBeach nice, Troulos not so nice.Pretty beach but gets busy at most times. Went on a cloudy day and most of the sunbeds were still occupied. The hotel nearby is excellent with restaurant right next to the beach and is excellent value for money, gets busy though so you may need to book and be patient with the service. I didn't notice too many facilities like showers or snack bars or toilets near the beach. Troulos itself was uninspiring in my opinion. I had hoped for a lively central square or pedestrianised area with bars and restaurants and a place to people watch, but there isn't one, it's just a fairly busy road with bars, supermarkets and restaurants dotted along it. The road has no pavement, just a rough verge so you have to watch your step and watch for traffic. Most of the bars and restaurants are nice enough, but be prepared for noise from the cars, motorbikes and especially quad bikes which are very popular here. Other bars and hotels are situated near a quieter road which is really more of a dirt track and is bordered by scrubland, lengths of rusty chain link fencing and several abandoned half finished buildings. My advice would be to get the bus (if you don't mind standing up) or a taxi (much better) and go into Skiathos Town, it's loads nicer.Visited September 2024Travelled soloWritten 15 September 2024

Large bay with very nice soft sand. Lots of sunbeds yet still plenty of room to lay towels and soak up the sun. Visited daily by up to four swans which are beautiful and such a lovely sight to see. Water calm and gently shelving, was very warm when we were there late Aug early Sept. Very good for swimming and there is a water sports centre should you wish to try paddle boarding, canoes etc ….
We really enjoyed it here and came most days – would highly recommend.

Quite a large beach by Skiathos standards with 3 or 4 beach concessions for beds and shades. During our stay in August most of the beds were taken by 9:30 - 10:00. On most of the beach the water gets deep quite quickly but it was quite warm and crystal clear with some sea grass on the bottom further out. There is also a water sports concession on the beach. The main access is about 250m down a lane from the main road by bus stop 21.

The part of the beach in front of the Troulos Bay Hotel is far better tended to than the other half so it’s worth paying the €9 charge for two sun beds and an umbrella for the day. There are shingle spots to watch for if you’re not wearing shoes and the tide builds a little bank you have to navigate going in and out of the sea. There are several places to eat but the hotel is easily the best and not expensive.

Sandy beach not many people on it early on 10am but does get packed up fast. This is my second time coming here and there was the last time I come a lot more sun loungers. Depending where you sit they cost €20 for 2 beds and an umbrella. There are 2 tavernas on this beach I would not recommend them for food as it was terrible the food was inedible. There is changing cubicle and toilets, a shop and food place on a side road on the way down to the beach.

This is a lovely Sandy bay with beautiful crystal clear water. There was an abundance of fish and sea life. It was also frequented by swans! It’s an organised beach with sun loungers and parasols for €8-10. There’s a hotel with a bar and restaurant which is open to the public plus a few other tavernas on the beach. There’s also a well stocked supermarket a 5 minute walk away. There’s a couple of changing cubicles on the beach. There’s also a water sports place which hires kayaks, ringo’s, banana boats, paddle boarding etc There is no waiter service on the beach.

Absolutely stunning beach. We always sat towards the far end (Troulos Bay hotel end) where it was quieter and more rocky. Water was crystal clear, loads of fish visible without snorkel- but kids snorkelled and saw the most amazing things.
Didn’t feel need to pay for sun beds as swam more than sunbathed - a first for me!!
Ate virtually each time in the gyros bar at end of road, cheap, delicious and a spotless toilet between it & the small ‘supermarket’ Once ate at taverna at sandier end of the beach , v slow and grumpy service and not great food but surprisingly not that expensive either.
Highly recommend Troulos beach, miss it already now home!!

I read a review posted last month that said 2 sunbeds were 12.50 euros. It's not. It's 20 euros for 2.
It's sandy but gritty. There are too many kids for me.
If you don't get here by 10 am, you'll be struggling to get a sunbed.
The sea is clear. There are 3 tavernas on beach and water sports.

Just returned from Skiathos, spent 2 weeks on different beaches and this was our favourite, smallish with good facilities, laid back and quiet family vibe. Very busy everywhere in August but this beach was particularly lovely because if you’re fair skinned and need shelter all day then at each end of the beach there are trees you can plonk underneath. Also some decent snorkelling either end. Troulos Bay Hotel on the beach has nice toilets and a restaurant (and lovely friendly staff), plus there’s a couple more tavernas, a shower and changing cubicles. Only a couple of mins walk from bus stop no.20. Note - if you want blue sunbeds, get there early and pay for them at hotel reception (€5 each).

Hello
My friend and I are looking to stay in Troulos from 14th - 21st September, in accommodation which is close to the beach. Would this be classed as 'out of season'? We're both in our 30s, looking for a relaxing holiday to enjoy the beach (hopefully not too busy), mix with locals, enjoy the food at different restaurants and maybe do a couple of boat trips. But, I read somewhere that most places in the area close from mid-September. Is this true? We don't mind it being quiet, but don't want it to be dead either!
We also won't have a car. Will we be able to see/do things without one? We're happy to use public transport.
Thanks so much for your help.
Mandy

Are there any nice busy bars, with good atmosphere and maybe music? anywhere in skiathos?
Written 18 June 2018
Yes. All along the Skiathos main port is great music and nice bars! Some nights you can find live music. They are busy every night and you’ll find one that fits you. Troulos beach has some live music there on certain nights. If you do go to Troulos, go to Sunrise Bar Taverna and you’ll find a hidden gem of great food, atmosphere and live Greek music! Check for the night going though. Good luck and have fun!

Christakis sports bar is the name of the taverna which I'm sure ran quiz nights mentioned earlier in these answers, it's about 500 metres back off the beach and is listed on trip advisor so you should be able to find it
