Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Its an average-looking beach, sand on the seashore. We stopped there to stay a day, it was totally empty, but immediately left when noticed that a massive toe breaking contiguous stone layer is under the turbid water within 3 meters.
Disappointing that the Tritonas Tavern’s cashier collected the sunbed fee very fast for the use, she knew it very well that people would leave when the stones become clear.

Stayed at the Blue Alba Insula. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Although 7years old it looked like new.
Rooms were fantastic and clean. We stayed half board and this gave us the freedom during the day to do our own thing or go on excursions.
The staff are wonderful and polite and Manos at the pool bar was the best. Very good with people.
Restaurant food had loads of choices and the desserts were to die for.
Well done TUI

In April the sea temp was tolerable and we enjoyed it thoroughly! Swam and explored the rock pools almost everyday during our stay at Stella Island nearby. As you walk down theres a sandy area as well as a beautiful cliff pier where its exciting to see the waves crash into when the tide is high. Beautiful during sunset

Stayed at the insular alba Hotel. Only downside was no private beds on the beach close by. Beds and parasols available on vetch for 7 euros a day.
Plenty of restaurants within short distances.
No real nightlife for youngsters but ideal for a relaxing holiday.

We walked along the coast to this beach from Gouves as it was highly rated. While it was nice and quiet, it wasn’t as nice as the beach we’d come from. However, it’s a big beach with lots of space and water sports rentals if you’re so inclined.

Long beach with different sections. Sand and shingle with some areas that had big rocks in the water. One area had a complete layer of rock as you entered the water but walk along and in front of the big 5* hotels, the beaches had been cleared and were lovely. There is a big water sports section. The water was very clear. Some areas had big waves!

Hi.
Stayed in the blu hotel on the sea front, lovely hotel, lovely staff.
Beaches not that good on this side of the island but most hotel's have nice pools.
Lots of restaurants to choose from and all seemed fine.
Try and go into the mountains villages and try the local food, it's all lovely.
Plenty of trips to do konnous was very interesting and it's worth taking the boat trips around the island.
It's a lovely place to visit and don't be put off when you arrive it's a bit worn around the edges, but this is why we go on holiday for, to see how the other people live, and enjoy a lovely layed back lift style.

We stayed at Stella Island towards the left facing the sea and the beach was pretty grim - rocky and little sand. However walking further right with the sea to our left, the beach does open out more and offers a more sandy experience. Lots of fishing opportunities and paddling for little ones as well as scuba diving clubs and plenty of sunbeds to hire etc. Not over crowed in when we were there in May and not too commercial.

Lovely resort in the north of Crete. Great beach with watersports and sunbeds available. A number of shops and Taverna along the beach front.
