Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Conor and Aimee were fantastic! So much so that we came the next day for another session! They were both super friendly and patient with us (also helped to avoid Sea urchins). If you are in Lemnos, going with these guys will ensure you have a great time.

We'll be looking to do our PADI Course with the team next year!

I had wanted to scuba dive for ages but was very nervous. The instructors could not have been more patient & I maybe with a different teacher I would’ve chickened out but with much encouragement I completed my first dive & loved it. I am now determined to carry on. Many thanks for a such great experience, I would highly recommend!

Our experience with Black Rock really made our holiday. Nic, Hayden and Russ could not have been more welcoming or supportive, and really went above and beyond the call of duty on so many instances. They took 13 of us out on a fantastic kayaking and snorkelling trip, put 3 of the children in our party through the PADI Scuba Diver qualification, reintroduced two of us to diving after a 16 year gap and took us on some great local dives. Very safety conscious, and good equipment. A cold beer over diving chatter at the end of the day was the icing on the cake. Huge thanks to the 3 of you!

ps If you're staying at the Neilson Aeolian Beach Resort, definitely check them out and pack your dive qualifications.

We enjoyed a really brilliant half day, with a power boat ride around to an area were we went kayaking, which gives a really good opportunity to see the wonderful wildlife on the rocky volcanic cliffs above. We were enthralled by a goat and a sheep precariously perched on a vertical section of cliff. On the water we saw sword fish, and a porpoise.
After the kayaking we arrived at the destination, a wreck partially submerged having run aground in the 1980's. There was an abundance of colourful fish, making this one of the best parts of what was already a great holiday.

Excellent - my son went diving and gained his PADI advanced certificate plus a few extras. I went on one of their snorkeling trips which was excellent. Friendly helpful team.

Thanks to Hayden and Maisie for a lovely afternoon of snorkeling in the beautiful Aegean sea. Lots of fish to see and we also got to see the remains of a wrecked ship. We also saw parts of the petrified forest. Lovely experience. We are older and we felt safe and well looked after, the equipment was all provided. Thanks again.

After completing my divemasters with Blackrock in egypt I was lucky enough to continue my experience with Hayden and nic in Greece. They were an awesome team who were informative, funny and safety was always of the upmost priority. Dive sites were great and there's something for all experience levels. Got to see a few of my favourites of which are the octopus and nudibranchs!

Black Rock (I think) mostly services the adjacent Nielsen Resort On Lesvos (Skala Eressos). Me and my partner weren’t at the resort though and I would highly recommend a snorkeling or kayak trip. The snorkeling was suitable for beginners - and though fish were not abundant, this is probably due to fishing in the area rather than the site itself. I also went kayaking which again I would highly recommend - it is sea kayaking on open kayaks which don’t have steering pedals, so if you’re an absolute beginner, it might be tough. Was well worth it though - went to 2 snorkeling sites as part of the trip which were great - more fish than at the wreck snorkeling site. Liam the skipper is very knowledgeable about the island and is a generally friendly chap. The guides were also really friendly and worked hard to make sure we saw stuff.

Myself and my son went for a scuba dive experience whilst staying at the Neilson hotel.
The scuba school is in the hotel grounds and training is carried in the pool to start with.
Everyone is really friendly and relaxed.
We completed an hours dive in the sea and saw plenty of fish and ancient pottery.
Diving instructors were great and we all had a good and safe dive. 10 out of 10 😁
Would perhaps consider a qualification so you can dive without doing the practice in the pool first - but check the prices first.

We stayed at the Neilson's Aeolian Village Beach Club next to the dive centre. I'm a PADI instructor and 2 of my friends opted for the 'Discover Scuba' course to that they could join me on a dive. They were both very happy with the instruction and we all went on a dive to a nearby cove. The visibility was excellent although there's not lot to see...some small fish, a moray eel and some pieces of ancient Greek pottery but nevertheless it was a good first experience for my friends and I swam around taking photos and video so had a good time too.
