About
Tour hours from 10:00 am to 18:00 pm. We are an open to public laboratory for the production and packaging of honey. Visitors have the opportunity to take a tour by our guide and learn incredible information about bees and honey production. Also, in our space there is a small collection of exhibits of beekeeping tools of the past, to be compared with the new honey extraction means. The tour is completed with tasting and treats, while guests can get honey, if they wish from our store. There is also an outdoor cafe for those who want to enjoy a refreshing drink or traditional Cretan products with honey. Suitable for children. FREE ENTRANCE.

- Dark S5 contributionsTasty honey! This was easy to reach and find and not too many people there. There were two options, guided tour or self paced, we decided to go self paced as we wanted to read all the information. We learned a lot about bees and how honey is extracted historically and more modern methods. As it is free to tour and taste we decided to buy some fresh honey. The staff were friendly and attentive to help with any questions we had, and even gave recommendations based on their own preferences.Thank you so much for your comment! We are really happy that you enjoyed your visit to our place. We wish you all the best! We are looking forward to see you again! - mpumbavuMwanza, Tanzania86 contributionsInformative and interesting small businessYoung lady has only been giving tours [free] for 3 years, but English well spoken - if she didn't know the word, she gave us explanations until we supplied it! Said she learns from visitors and was learning Spanish. We were able to ask questions, learnt a lot and then told to taste test without being pressured to buy [but we did - liberally]Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 April 2024
- Team Fryatt5 contributionsExcellent - Highly recommended. We visited this honey venue as a family of 4 (including a 11 and 13 yo) following reviews on here (trip advisor) and we were not disappointed. We were welcomed warmly and given a comprehensive tour and talk about the history of bee keeping and honey making in the region starting with the bee community. Our guide was passionate, informative and engaging. After the tour (10 -15 minutes with lots of our questions) we went to the tasting room and got to try 3 types of honey as well as produce they made onsite and a few others little items. Delicious!! If you are anywhere nearby (we were an hour away) we would all recommend stopping by to learn and bit more about honey and to try their amazing produce. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 27 July 2024
- Kieran JLondon, United Kingdom22 contributionsUn-bee-lievable honey tasting experience 🍯😁Amazing honey tasting experience! The young lady that was our tour guide was amazing & so knowledgeable (& faultless English). She took questions if you are more interested in their processes, but I feel the tour was the perfect amount of time… not too long but didn’t feel rushed. Obviously the honey tasting at the end was our favourite part! We ended up bringing 1 or 2 jars home 😁. 5⭐️ experience, would highly recommend.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 September 2024

Museum prepared with a lot of love. A very good English speaking employee takes you for about 10-15 minutes into the world of bees (free of charge) and tells you exciting information about the bees and the production of honey. At the end there is the possibility to taste different kinds of honey for free and to buy delicious honey. The small museum has only recently opened, so it is still a real insider tip. A visit can be combined with the nearby olive oil factory (also highly recommended)!

We drove here on the way to Reptisland and stopped to buy some honey. You could go around the small museum on your own which would take about 10 mins but we opted for a free tour and were treated to lots of information and detail on how honey is made. It was really interesting and we could see the lady was very knowledgeable. Then were able to taste some different types of honey produced there and we bought a gift and some honey for ourselves. Well worth a visit if passing.

We had such a nice visit to Apithano! Athena was the most welcoming host, taking us through the honey-making process, emphasizing the importance of bees in our ecosystem and sharing how they make their lovely honey while supporting the bee populations. We got to taste the honey at the end and it was gorgeous. We would have brought home more if we had more baggage space!
We also had a very nice lunch at the cafe - honey on yogurt, toasted pittas and honey pastries. Highly recommend

Such an interesting place. The tour didn't take too long, so this is an ideal museum for children as well. Also because they can touch some of the items on display and try them. We learned a lot about bees and making honey. There are great products with reasonable prices also for sale.

Lovely experience. Learnt a lot more about the bees and the products on sale afterwards are amazing! They are all reasonably priced and I was pleased to give money to someone local for my family back home who have looked after my animals while I’ve been away. (Plus got a few treats for ourselves) thank you

Spent a very lovely time here. Had the best cheese pie with honey in the cafe first, then had a informative tour telling us about the need and the whole honey producing timeline; which included some implements from the past. Would definitely recommend visiting.

Lovely experience in the honey museum with a wonderfully informative free tour with Catarina who answered all of my many! questions patiently & perfectly (she speaks great English).
I have now learnt a lot I didn't know about something I have been eating every day for years and these fascinating creatures - bees and seen & compared historical & modern honey production techniques.
Even the ancient Minoans understood the importance of the bees as evidenced by the archaeological finds on the island & in Greece.
Of course you also get to taste the varieties & wax based products & skin creams.
I bought a lovely jar of hazlenut honey which I was looking forward to treating myself to at home - sadly I tried to take it on the plane as hand luggage & it got swipped - schoolboy error!
Definitely recommend a visit to ApianoXxxx
It's a 5 minute walk from Paraschakis Olive Oil centre (which looked interesting too but the tour was very rushed in quite a strong accent (from the young girl), so I don't feel I've really understood exactly everything there :(

A 1-hour tour seminar that fills you with knowledge and will answer all your questions about bees. Mrs. Katerina, a cheerful and kind person, will make you feel at home and will answer all your questions.
It's completely FREE.
At the end there are samples of all the products if you want to try and buy any of them.
Thank you for the experience, we recommend it to everyone.
