It was a lovely quiet day around a very peaceful large lake when we were there, a nice place to stopover for a picnic. Lots of bird life and water birds, definitely worth a visit for nature lovers.

Nice parkland and lakeside walk. Sandy shores interspersed with mangroves. Good BirdLife and have also seen kangaroos. No toilets or shops. A few benches to sit on.

On a windy day the kite surfers skim across the water leaping and performing their aerial tricks. Lovely grassed areas with plenty of space to relax or play ball games.

The least people there the better. Just for the locals. A few sandflys, some stingrays, even a shark or two.

We were able to hire a boat from T-boat hire and we travelled. We headed upstream for a quiet 1/2 day of boating and fishing. The birdlife and other animals we encountered were never ending.

Hi DizzieDe, you can park straight across from the lakeside end of Eumarella road. Pretty good for a paddle there or walk around a little towards teh south and there are some nice little spots too.
