Great for families with kids

Great way to learn something about the region and production of champagne. One and half hour entertainment on a rainy day.

In fact we did not do the tour as we arrived rather late in the afternoon. But it was great to walk around and enjoy the autumnal warmth and smell. We had a great view on the vineyards and the fields. As it was late, the light was so beautiful; when daylight grows thin and dusk takes over. And of... More

The museum tour is very interesting and fills a good amount of time (allow at least an hour to do it justice). We then climbed the lighthouse steps (that's a workout for the thighs!) and were rewarded with a great view. At €9 for a combined ticket it is well worth the money.

We stumbled across Le Phare on a drive through the region on a Sunday morning. Staff were welcoming, we paid for a visit to the lighthouse, and also bought a bottle (the staff helped us choose a local bottle).

Interesting stop. This museum has a wonderful history of Champagne. Nice grounds as well as a very nice gift shop. Definitely worth a visit.

This site did not meet the hype in the guide books. I wish we had moved on and skipped this stop on the Route de Champagne. We paid for the tower tour and climbed the steps. Forget about it in July..it was extremely hot and you will not linger. The view are not that great as compared to vistas on... More

If you want to learn more on the process of making Champagne, this is a good start. It will not only give you an understanding of how this is done today, but also how manually intensive this was in the past. You can climb the stairs, visit the museum and have a tasting for a reasonable price.

If you find yourself in Reims with only a day to look round then you must make an effort to visit the Phare at Verzenay. Verzenay is one of the top villages in champagne and the Phare a legendary view point. It houses an interesting museum that tells the history of champagne and from the top of the tower you... More

there is a nice rest room and you can walk around and enjoy the view for free. The gift shop had a nice selection of champagne and ratafia that were reasonably priced. We saw some people taking picnic supplies up to the lookout. I wish I'd thought of that.
