Great inspiration for kids.

.My grandchildren loved Wroxeter. Its so easy to motivate them, marching around in the very steps of Roman soldiers. Use the audio guide, they'll enjoy the detail.

I visited Wroxeter's Roman city on the recommendation of a friend. The site consists of the core of a former Roman city, which was the fourth largest in Roman Britain at the time. I recommend using the audio tour guide, which describes how various parts of the city would have looked from different parts of the grounds. Be sure to... More

The self-guided tour of the grounds is very pleasant and easy to follow - each plaque gives a bit of detail, then directs one to the next plaque, and so on. The reconstructed Roman house is also very insightful - one gets a better sens of what life must have been like back then. Lastly the staff were very friendly,... More

Just returned from a visit to Rome so thought of a visit closer to home. I took my Grandson who is very into History. Though not Rome or Pompeii it is a very interesting place to visit and there is a taped guide you can take around with you explaining all the remains especially the Baths. visit should take around... The site covers a small area but is well put together with an audio handset provided which I would say is essential to actually appreciate what you are seeing although there is signage around the site. A small shop with friendly staff also houses a 'mini' museum and toilets with a picnic area outside. Don't plan for a full day... More

Our visit gave us an insight of how people used to live within the Roman city. Not a huge site, as a lot is still buried under farm land. There is audio equipment available. A museum on site. Also a café, gift shop and toilets. Good for children's groups, with a guide and an education building.

A friend and I arrived here quite late on a Sunday afternoon , but we were able to see everything the site had to offer. We found it interesting and informative . The audio guide gave us plenty of information . The girls/staff were helpful and although it was the end of probably a long day for them , they... More

The roman city is a fairly small site with plenty to look at including a reconstructed villa. The audio guide was interesting and straight forward. We combined our trip with a visit to the nearby Roman Vineyard.

As members of English Heritage,we didn't have to pay to visit the Roman City,so don't know how much the entry fee is...but a nice place to visit! Very educational-fascinating insight into Roman life! The recreated Roman town house, which is just across the road from the Roman City is very interesting.....An enjoyable visit for about an hour or so...
