This church and seminary occupy a large site containing many stunning and ornate buildings all on a large scale. The main church in particular is incredibly ornate and richly decorated, the seminary monumental, even the small chapel to out Lady is beautifully atmospheric and peaceful.

This is a wonderful place to visit. It feels like a working Abbey should do. It's peaceful and tranquil, but huge and Baroque. It's religion on a massive scale.

Performing and recording with The Cleveland Orchestra in Sankt Florian Stift, we enjoyed walking the beautifully landscaped grounds and visiting the burial place of composer Anton Bruckner, who lies in state beneath the magnificent organ on which he performed. The acoustics are amazing, even heavenly, inside the ornate Baroque sanctuary. There is a wonderful gift shop and Feuerwehr museum as... More

An important place for Anton Bruckner 's fans. İt is nearly one and a half hour distance form Vienna. Only if you join the tour ( at 11:00,13:00 etc) you can visit whole building including the library ,the treasure, the grave, the grave of Anton Bruckner, the Ball hall and the Church. If you don't take the tour only Church... More

Have had a tour of the complex and have climbed up both of the western towers. Have played the organ all lead by the monk who is the parish priest of the monastery church.

A beautiful monastery. It's directly located on the highway from Linz to Vienna. It's the place where Bruckner wrote some of his famous music.

I had seen photos of the library in one of those 10 most beautiful libraries of the world collections that circulate around the internet. For my husband it had the added connection to Anton Brueckner. Since it was close to Linz, we went. It was easy to catch a bus from the Linz central bus station next to the central... More

While on a concert tour, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of this wonderful abbey. In fact, in some respects, this is more impressive and with a more personable tour than at Melk. If you have an interest in Romantic period symphonic music, then the very strong Bruckner connection is quite special. Our guide was absolutely outstanding, too.

This is a beautiful monastery complex with a beautiful church where Anton Bruckner was organist and where he is buried. The guided tour was excellent, the library is beautiful and there is a gorgeous marble salon. The rooms for the members of the Imperial court are worth seeing and Anton Bruckner's room is very touching. We also saw Bruckner's tomb... More
