Don't know why the reviews are poor.
Except for some of the products are expensive, the tour was excellent.
You just have to know how much these items cost and be cautious.
These people are just making a living

Overpriced, Tourist Trap Con
Sep 2019 • Couples
Like everyone before me, avoid this place. Its a tourist trap and scam. At first you will get sucked in, with the sales patter of 'herbal meds. We fell for the Herbal hair removal cream patter. Some of it put on my leg and ten minutes later, hair gone. We were gobsmacked. No chemicals, just pure ayurvedic natural herbs he said. More of the same sales patted with hair loss, fat loss etc etc. You then end up at the massage place. Nice massage and then leaflet given to select what you want. Then to the pharmacy where it's all overpriced. If you want to tip, then do so, but then LEAVE.

FYI - The hair removal cream is Veet sold for ten times the price.

We enjoyed our visit.
Dec 2018 • Couples
We really enjoyed our walk around the garden learning about all the different plants and what they are used for. Our guide, the doctor was friendly and enthusiastic. We received a relaxing massage and were asked to give a tip. Then we had the most delicious hot chocolate while we marked down on a list any products we were interested in buying. I wasn’t keen on this approach and would have preferred being able to have a proper look around the little shop. When we got into the shop they did try to sell us large quantities of the things we wanted to buy, but we made sure we only bought what we really wanted and we paid in cash! I bought some Saffron cream which smells gorgeous and we were given some curry powder as a gift. There were also a couple of injured dogs wandering around who seemed to be (hopefully!) being cared for by the staff there.

Why Did I Bother?

Everything ordinary has been said about this place.I did wonder when the sting would happen. It did at the end. I'm happily adding to the terrible stats!

Informative
Jul 2019
I’m not sure why people are hating on this place. The tour was well done and buying and massage are optional.

Why people don’t check the prices before purchase... Well.

The only price comparison we have is the vanilla extract was $8 per bottle. In the US it’s about $15 I think.

The whole area is a tourist trap and I will not return. The elephant stuff is clearly a rip off. But to take these nice people down, well, I don’t understand. They are trying to make a living.

medical Garden

Visiting the garden was interesting and informative. Of course we knew there was a trade behind the warm approach. We just bought what we wanted and we still received another product as a gift. I have to admit that the fat loss product worked great, 8 cm in the waist was lost after application.

Massive scam, don't enter or if you do have your wits about you!
Feb 2019 • Couples
If your day trip involves a visit to this place be super careful. The tour starts gently showing you all the uses for the different herbs and spices. It then takes a very weird turn whereby two alleged student masseuses turn up to give you a neck and head massage, very weird and uncomfortable. They obviously want a sizable tip for the unwanted massage they have given you.

You are then taken to the their shop whereby you are unduly pressured to buy products that are said to miraculously cure all things from erectile dysfunction to weight loss to diabetes and any other human issue you can think off in between! We stupidly bought some hair serum for the Mrs, it was basically a Volvic bottle filled with oil and twigs, a complete scam. The products are well wrapped so you can’t actually see what you are buying and they have two price tags, the one they show you and the higher one they charge you. I was disappointed we fell for it but they are good, keep your wits about you.

We heard many horror stories around the pool about over charging, credit card fraud and products not fit for purpose. It all sounds too good to be true because it is. We escaped only £30 down but still well ripped off!

STAY WELL CLEAR!

Scam Alert
Feb 2019 • Solo
The drivers get money for bringing people there. The tour is nice. The massage is nice but they ask for big tips. I wouldn’t give move than 200rupees. Then they try to sell you hundreds of dollars worth of oils that suppose to change your life. I have a couple of chronic syndromes so I fell for it. But when I got home some of the stuff was moldy and the bottles wouldn’t even open right. Then I thought “Do I really want to ingest “oils” from another country with the possibility of getting really sick?” I can’t even trust that they are telling me the truth. Take the tour but don’t buy anything.
