We joined Osprey tours and had Jose Fernando as our tour guide who was fantastic. Full of information, jokes and a wonderful story-teller. We were picked up at our hotel at 7 and returned about 3. We drove just past the crocodile bridge where we...More

Fantastic views of the mangroves from the platform. A very knowledgeable young man took us out on the speed boats across the mangrove looking for crocodiles, turtles and dolphins which we spotted.

what a gorgeous biosphere! We saw dolphins, tortoises, lots of birds and then also went snorkling. Our tour guide was also amazing and really shared his personal experiences with us that were invaluable to hear.

This was my favorite day-trip from our recent visit to Akumal. We started with the Muyil preserve, ruins and jungle, made friends with the guide-dog and explored ruins in a relaxed and blissfully empty atmosphere. We proceeded through the gate to the Sian Kaan biosphere...More

To get inside the reserve and see anything, you need to be on a boat. You can drive to Muyil, just before you get to Tullum, and schedule a day tour into the reserve from there. It's very good. We saw manatees and... More
