- Peter M4 contributionsCouldn't be betterWent for the festive afternoon tea. Best value tea we have ever had, An excellent shot of parsnip soup plus savouries. Sandwiches were a good portion and cakes were scrumptious. Staff couildn't have been more helpful and attentive. Well worth the price.Thank you very much for your comments, we are very grateful of your feedback and are delighted you had such a good experience with your visit to Jacksons. - Margaret TStoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom13 contributionsLovely birthday celebration 😊Margaret Treanor 7 sisters had the most delicious tasty lunch. Everything was lovely and hot, well presented, and plenty of it. The staff were most attentive and always checking back if we needed anything. It was a very busy time and everything came af the same time. We had a few hiccups with the bill which was ultimately sorted, no problems there. We do go occasionally and will definitely be back. Merry Christmas to all the staff from the Treanor girls 🎄 🎅 🧑🎄Thank you for your review and for taking the time to leave us your feedback, we will pass on your comments to the team. It was very busy, yet all the staff without exception were calm and very friendly. Everything was well organised and very efficient. The food was great and hot. Proper cup of tea, and clean table. The other Garden Centre yesterday need to visit this place and learn how hospitality should work. Well done and thank you.Thank you very much for your review, we are very grateful of your comments and are thrilled you enjoyed your visit. - sueraffeShifnal, United Kingdom66 contributionsHolly TreeWe came here from Shropshire specifically to buy one or two holly trees and to get advice about them. We could not have gone to a better place. Pete was sooo knowledgable and spent a long time giving us all the information we needed, then helped us to the car with 2 beautiful trees. Holly names can be confusing, as Golden King is female, and Silver Queen is male. So it doesn’t matter that I have christened my female tree “Pete”. I’ll call the male tree “Sue” after the Johnny Cash songThank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We went this time for an early birthday meal and the food was wonderful. The staff ate really helpful! The manager changed the chairs for the elderly people in our group to ones with cushions on so they were comfy, and they also changed one of the meals to gluten free which was lovely and made us relax about eating there. Would defo recommend here and will be coming bask againThank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. Customer services were very prompt and helpful with my email enquiry and Jane at the nursery helped me choose my roses and transported them to the till with her motorised vehicle. Thank you. We had a lovely lunch in the restaurant and great gift shop. I highly recommend Jackson’s Nursery and will definitely visit again.Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback, we are grateful of your comments and look forward to seeing you again soon.Written 6 March 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 March 2024
- Little Miss Clumsy126 contributionsGreat food and lovely staffMy partner and I visited for lunch without booking. However, a very nice lady found us a table. It was incredibly busy which was a promising sign. I was lucky enough to order the last vegetable lasagne and my partner ordered the chicken caesar salad. Both our meals were delicious and huge! The side salad was lovely and fresh, not the cheap old dried stuff very often served. The staff were so nice and very attentive. We don't live locally but if we did we would be frequent visitors :o). One downside of the centre was the toilets. The female toilets weren't very nice at all and not very clean. Had I used them first I probably wouldn't have visited the restaurant.Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review, we are very happy to hear you enjoyed your lunch and we will be sure to pass on your comments to our management team.Written 19 March 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 March 2024
- dragonlady9018 contributionsSatisfied customers who visit regularly. We visit Jacksons again today to have our regular Saturday lunch for two and were very happy with the quality of the food, the service and the price. We visit two to three times a month; sometimes for the garden centre and shop but most often for the tea room. The food is of a good quality and plentiful. We took my 80 years young mother here for Christmas afternoon tea and there was enough food to feed an army and the staff were more than happy to pack up the left overs for us to take home. We have also purchased numerous plants and ceramic pots and always found them of a good standard and reasonably priced. Last summer we purchased an arbor seat here and found the price to be the best in our local area (we visited a further five garden centres to compare price and designs). The staff are very helpful and make shopping here a pleasure. Too much

We had previously visited just my wife and I and were pleased with our meals.
This time we met up with friends...again for lunch.
I had previously had the Beef Lasagne which was well presented and tasty. So I ordered the same again.
This time it came in a smaller portion and a mushed up mess that to be honest looked like the scraping from the last remnants from the dish in which it had been cooked in. No layers, just a dolloped small heap of non specific pasta and sauce.
Had we not been with friends I would have sent it back, but British reserve and not wanting to embarrass our friends restrained me from complaining.
This is not a cheap place to eat and I obviously expected better than I with that which I was served.

3rd time here and another fantastic experience.
Went for breakfast with my 4 year old daughter. Whilst we were there the restaurant manager was feeding the fish outside, he asked my daughter if she wanted to help him. Obviously she said yes and loved throwing the food in to the huge fish. She then enjoyed looking at the peacocks and playing on the tractor and play area. This gave me a great opportunity to seek flower advice from 2 extremely helpful staff, and have a look around. I ended up with 2 geisha orange rhododendron azaleas. I need to plan another trip as I saw some gorgeous mims artisan pots, unfortunately I will have to save a little first.
I can't recommend this place enough, if it's a nice cosy cake and coffee or some serious gardening shopping you really must pay this place a visit. Incredible. Iv never visited anywhere so friendly you really do feel amongst friends.
Thank you so much

Visited with my husband and two kids. We had kids cheese sandwich, 2 panini and beef and horseradish mayo sandwich. Also had a small strawberry milkshake, pot of tea and glass of water….. all for £48!!
Food came out quickly, cheese on panini wasn’t melted fully, one of the panini was advertised as Monterey Jack cheese…. It was just cheddar, kids cheese sandwich was £4.95 for half a sandwich and 6/7 crisps that were stale. Beef sandwich had a small amount of beef and hardly any horseradish mayo.
Overall, we found the whole place over priced (including the plants) for what you get, quality was ok to poor, quantity also suffering probably due to raising prices and lowering quantity/standards like everywhere these days. Won’t visit again.

Dropped by for brunch after a long absence, really like the extended dining area, it's lovely to be able to feel like you're outdoors. Service was swift and welcoming, coffee was excellent, hot and not over strong, we enjoyed our food to, prices are pitched about right (to many others have bumped their prices way over being fair). Afterwards we wandered around the shop, some nice items to tempt, not to impressed at having to wait more than five minutes to be served, one person looked at me but didn't serve, the other member of staff was making coffee, if at least one of them had acknowledged me it would of at least been polite. We wandered into the garden centre, it was much tidier and organised we noticed, lovely helpful lady working away and obviously enjoying her work. All in all a pleasurable visit.

I’ve been meeting here for some time with old friends, but this place has hit a new low. It’s always been a bit pricey, but always happy to support local businesses. But it’s gone too far now. The fuller breakfast was never perfect - who puts cheap catering sausages on a breakfast other than a work’s canteen?? But, the location probably balanced things out. But now they have upped the price to £15 and limited the refills of tea to one cup - the loyalty card say ‘refills’ but now that only means one! Shan’t be bothering anymore, there’s cutting corners and penny pinching, but this is just poor. Shame.

Dear Sir or Madam,
We are extremely disappointed to have received your review following your recent visit to our tearoom and apologise if you felt we fell short of your expectations on this occasion.
As always, we take feedback extremely seriously and have carried out a full review of your visit with our team.
We apologise that we did not offer unlimited refills on your drinks, you are right, this has always been the case and on this occasion, it was down to a lack of understanding and training with the staff member who served you – we are very sorry.
Our prices have had to be increased slightly on our new menu to reflect the price increases of every commodity on our business. We have not increased our prices for 2 years but now, due to considerable cost increases to our business, we have now had little choice but to make these adjustments.
We always make every effort to ensure we provide a good service level and quality food and we apology once again if you felt we didn’t achieve this.
We thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving us the opportunity to respond, we hope that you will allow us the opportunity to prove we have rectified the free drinks refill misunderstanding for the future.

Highly recommend the Festive Afternoon Tea - absolutely delicious with the perfect sweet/savoury balance - one of the best afternoon teas we’ve ever had! The staff were so pleasant & very attentive, and the crackling fire really gave it a Christmassy feel. A perfect way to spend a special afternoon. Well done to the Jackson’s Team! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Again not sure if dog friendly. However, there is an outside seating area which might accomodate dogs.
