The museum is housed in a real German bunker, 5 stories high. It is very well recreated, showing you the living conditions during WWII. The displays are well done, and well explained. If you are in the area, you really must visit this place.

We have done most of the museums in Normandy. This one is exceptional not only because of its setting in a German blockhaus but also because it is really centered on the memories of people who actually lived the war. The story of the war...More

This place is quite a bit different to most WW2 museums. It focuses on the stories of ordinary people; each story fascinating in its own way. The bunker, part of the Atlantic Wall, is interesting in itself, as are the hundreds of artifacts in the...More

Took a trip here out of curiosity. I was impressed how well preserved the bunker was and it was not difficult to feel how it was back in the war. Excellent tableaus in the rooms describing life in the bunker and for those living nearby....More

Well worth a stop off to explore this interesting museum. Situated in a German WW2 5 story bunker, the museum tells a story using first hand accounts of some of the local people and German soldiers involved backed up with WW2 exhibits and reconstructions. Highly...More

An old German bunker from World War 2 has been renovated and transformed into a really interesting museum. A wide variety of stories of local people are told and these weave a broad collective memory of this horrific time in the history of France.

Yes another museum about World War II, but this one is unique It’s unique because of the approach: Inside the bunker, through several sceneries, you are invited to feel what the day to day life of the people was: the soldiers (French, German, American, English),...More

This is a privately funded museum and is well worth a visit. Certainly it has been a labor of love. It goes down 5 levels each one with amazing models and thought provoking commentaries . The view at the top of the bunker is spectacular...More
