- Rob B7 contributionsOMG clear waterIf you want clear water and a place to sit in the sun this is a great place. Do yourself a favor and rent a chair and umbrella, then sit back and relax with drink in hand. The locals will come around and be your waitstaff for drinks.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 22 October 2023
- Sydney SloneColumbus, Ohio22 contributionsBeautiful, alive beach but be ready to be bombardedBeach was beautiful and we were able to see fish and a stingray while snorkeling just off the beach. However, as soon as we got there we were pounced on by a group of men trying to get us to pay for chairs, towels, and other items. They bothered us throughout our whole time at the beach and we even got offered edibles. This made it one of our least favorite beaches to go to in St. ThomasVisited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 December 2023
- Marshall75BeckCelebration, Florida103 contributionsBeach in a run down area with limited beach and infrastructureIt was a beach with beautiful waters. But the infrastructure was old and needs improving. Not that clean but people were friendly and hospitable. Not much in the way of a formal set down restaurant but did offer carryout options to take and eat on beach. We tried a fried shrimp with two sides carry out meal and ate on only available seating—our rented chaise loungers. Old beach chair loungers offered at $10 per person. Did have a unique vibe but not appealing. Limited parking. I wouldn’t go back unless had no other beach to go to. No beach admission cost.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 January 2024
- mrhopaflightChicago, Illinois11 contributionsZenLots of wild life activity fish and birds Snorkeling is very much recommended here. The fish swim right up to your face. Be careful where you step there are urchins. There’s a few beach front restaurants you can order drinks and food right to where you’re laying. Be careful with the waiters. Make sure your order is correct before paying. Also make sure you don’t fall for the chips and salsa it’s a bag of Doritos and sweet and sour sauce 😑Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 January 2024
- NodoorIrving, Texas445 contributionsOk at best - plenty of gummies & WeedWell, if you want gummies or to blaze it up this is your place. Vendors walking around with buckets of gummies selling to visitors. Then, people blazing up on the beach giving you a contact high. Other than that, small beach, almost no parking and average food at only place to eat. Drinks decent. Much better beaches to visit.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 January 2024
- psudinoWeehawken, New Jersey4,431 contributionsNice Beach to go to after Coral WorldThe water is crystal clear and there's a bunch of tiny fish swimming around that the kids really enjoyed seeing. The beach itself was quite crowded and there was definitely a touristy vibe, but the kids only wanted to be in the water and look at the fish so it turned out to be a very nice visit for us. I wouldn't spend all day here but if you have an hour between Coral World and going back to the cruise ship this is a very nice stop.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 March 2024
- West B10 contributionsCool Key BeachI liked this beach. I was on a birthday trip and we had plans to Sea Trek at Coral world but the water was too aggressive so it was rescheduled, so after touring there we went to coki next door and yes it was crowded as its a smaller beach. However, I would say as all locals say “Check to see what Cruise Ships are coming in today” to adjust what beaches you go to. It had a little music, a couple of food options, weed, beach chairs and umbrella ( really cheap compared to other beaches ). Yes the serves and people selling things would walk past every few hours asking if you needed anything and we brung our own food chairs and cooler so we were set and in our experience no one was rude. There is a nice drop in that water during high-tide so be careful.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 March 2024
- HospitalityProsTennessee344 contributionsWater, nice. Beach, crowded. Food good. Our family wanted to spend the day at the beach so we headed to Coki. $14pp one way from the cruise port on a crowded open air bus. We got there around 10am and the beach was already getting crowded. By noon, you felt like a sardine packed in so tightly you could hardly see the water through all of the umbrellas and butts. We rented some loungers and umbrellas, all of which had seen better days, but, better than nothing. The beach is maybe 400 yards long with good water access. Water is clear and clean. (After all it’s the Caribbean) we swam and had fun despite the large crowds. The bathrooms are close by and at 12 noon we’re still clean. Sure, there’s the usual “vendors” selling anything from homemade jewelry to those selling some more questionable items. Think gummies, baked goods, and… wait for it… marijuana. The smell of weed can be overwhelming at times, but, having lived through the 60’s and 70’s I have grown accustomed to the smell. No, I didn’t inhale 😂. Explaining this to our 10’year old was another issue I was not prepared to discuss during our family vacation with the kiddo. So be prepared. There are some shops selling the typical tourist stuff, an ice cream shop and a few restaurants to choose from. Beach service for drinks and food was very good. Probably helped that we tipped the girl in advance to keep an eye open for our needs. Beer was served cold in a bucket with ice. The food was amazing! No we didn’t order burgers or nuggets! We did eat some top quality local fish like grouper and whole fried snapper both served with a heaping portion of sides. The snapper plate had two (2) fish expertly cooked Caribbean style. Bottom line, this is not a high end beach experience at a resort. It is however worth a visit to put your toes in the sand if your already at Coral World and have some Time to kill before heading back to your ship.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 20 March 2024
- Sheri S36 contributionsBeautiful beach day, Coki Beach, St. Thomas, USVIYou can snorkel near the beach and see lots of colorful fish. Great prices for a lounge chair, $5 US and Corona $5. From the port, Best Taxi charges $14 pp, each way. They have open air vehicles and may cram it full. On our way back, we got a Best van.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 March 2024
- Suzan CCamden, New Jersey2 contributionsHonest feelings for Coki BeachThis is a beautiful beach, with clear blue water and thriving with marine life. The beach is easily accessible from anywhere else and an easy stop after if you decide to visit Coral World. Although it is beautiful, it does have some cons. The beach has a lot of people trying to sell stuff for a quick buck and so many locals smoking weed, the place smells like sea salt and pot. I still recommend to go for the experience.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 April 2024

Interesting beach, nestled within lots of local food, chairs and trade. The water is one of the nicest places we’ve experienced on the island. Latter in the day, it becomes overwhelming crowed, everyone’s playing music that sounds like hypertension mumbles. No sense in buying a blunt, just inhale.

Snorkeling is supposed to be good here, well it was not. Very few fish, almost all the coral is dead. People everywhere jammed onto the narrow strip of beach, LOUD music, expensive drinks and food. We were there about 2 hours. Tourist taxis just kept bringing in more and more people. There is no charge, that’s good because I would have been very disappointed if I’d had to pay for this unpleasant experience. If you’re driving there, better go early, parking is very limited.

This beach is great for snorkeling. I had been to St. Thomas/St. John 10 years prior and the place to snorkel was Trunk Bay, however this time Coki was much better than Trunk Bay for snorkeling. The beach is a little rocky compared to any other beach we visited however that makes it great for shelling. It does get very crowded if you go there on the days when alot of cruise ships are in port however on other days it is quite relaxing. They rents chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, floats all for about $5 or less. Cheapest rentals we found at any beach. The food served there by the locals is ok. The Conch fritters were good but my Mahi Mahi Sandwich was very soggy and overall just not very good but other than that a nice little beach to add to your list to visit when in town.

Coki was the quintessential Caribbean beach. When you look in front of you out at the water it is some of the most beautiful views with turquoise water (which is common to most USVI beaches). But Coki had something that no other beaches had, local shops completely surrounding it which we thought added to the ambiance. It had music playing; 5 places to eat and multiple retail/rental shops, just be warned to bring cash because only one restaurant took credit (although the food at the place that takes credit was incredible). Coki had by far the best snorkeling of all the St Thomas beaches, stay to the right side by the rocks and purchase the dog biscuits to feed the fish. Highly recommend for a more active beach spot.

Awesome Beach, best snorkeling on the island. Get there early for the best spot as the beach gets very crowded because of the snorkeling. We say a ton of sea life, eels, blue tangs, conchs, angel fish, lots of coral, and so may others. Get the dog biscuits at the little shack and feed the fish, they come right up to you and eat the biscuits right out of your had. Chairs and umbrellas can be rented for $5 and $10, but you have them all day. There is a place to get food and drinks that is reasonably priced and they come out to the beach to take your order and bring it to you. Great location and crystal blue waters.

My husband and I were excited to go to Coki Beach for the snorkeling, which was fantastic. However, the rest of the experience wasn’t great. The water was beautiful, of course, but the beach was dirty and littered with trash. We ordered food (2 cheeseburgers) and 2 drinks from a person who was waiting on beach goers and didn’t receive our food or drinks until 2 hours later. This cost us $60. Also, 2 teenage boys got into a fist fight behind us. We moved out of the way and they ended up fighting in our towels and backpacks and they didn’t stop until we yelled at them. If going to Coki Beach, I would recommend ordering food and drinks from the bar/restaurant directly and waiting on them there. Also, go to the beach during the week as it is less busy.

The water and snorkeling here was excellent. My husband and son said it was much better than some of the other beaches they had gone to. There is beach service and the attendant will set your chairs up for you rather than you have to carry them yourself. There are concessions available however we waited over and hour for 3 drinks as well as one order of chicken and fries. There was a younger crowd at this beach. It was smaller than some of the other beaches we had gone to and parking was a challenge. I would recommend going early in the day to snorkel and leaving by noon to go to a larger less crowded beach.

We walked from Margaritaville. As soon as you get there guys are hassling you about chairs and umbrellas, we wanted them so it wasn't the end of the world, 3 chairs and an umbrella were $25 to rent. The beach isn't very deep but it is long, the water and view is amazing. The water was refreshingly cool while we were there, and no seaweed on the beach. There are shops, snorkel rentals, and places to eat and drink, drinks took a long time when we ordered from a waitress walking the beach. The guys putting down chairs and umbrellas really pack you in close and they played really loud music, I like Reggae but the music was bad.

We wanted a place close to Margaritaville where we were staying to go spend the day and came across reviews of this beach. We decided to drive over even though you could walk from Margaritaville. There is a parking area where they charged $5 to park and they cram the cars in but they help direct in parking and leaving. They walk you to the beach and offer to rent you chairs and lots of other things like floats etc... we brought towels so we didn’t rent anything. We found a spot very easily since there were no cruise ships in. I hear this is a popular beach and when cruise ships are in port it’s hard to find a spot. We were lucky it was not busy at all. There were people walking around asking for drink orders. There were a number of vendors selling food and drinks. We did not get any food we chose to eat when we got back to the room. I went snorkeling to the right side closer to the aqua marine place which to me had way more fish than the left side. It was definitely worth the trip over our Daughter enjoyed the snorkeling at our pace vs. a charter where they typically rush you. I would definitely recommend this beach spot. Do ink prices were all over the place. The painkiller was around $12 but the bush water was over $25 so I only did 1 drink. We purchased the dog biscuits to feed the fish 3 for $1 and the fish would just swarm around you they even came up and ate it from our daughters hand. Some people frown upon feeding the fish and I didn’t do research before hand so I assume it’s ok. That is up to you if you feel comfortable there is a vendor that sells them right there on the beach. It was awesome got great photos of the fish.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Beach looks beautiful but the sand is deep and your walking on broken rocks and shells to get in the water. We only stayed 30 min. No refunds on chairs and umbrella and they would not allow us to gift them to other beach goers. It’s very sad.

How long of a drive is it from Royal Caribbean's port to Coki Beach?
Written 2 August 2024
Approximately 30 minutes, try to get a taxi with A/C, the open ones are like cattle trucks, super uncomfortable and they charge you the same price. Try to go early to secure a good spot at the beach

Is there a recommended spot to enter the beach strictly for the best snorkeling?
Written 2 August 2024
We didn't do any excursions, actually brought our snorkeling gear with us from NY~started talking with locals and other travelers on the beaches and out and about found great spots, Coki isn't too large, but if you go all the way to the left there is a cliff/mountainside that ends Coki, just beneath and around that turn you will see tons of sea life :)

Is there a place to rent umbrellas and beach chairs?? Thanks
Written 2 July 2023
Yes, someone helped us get chairs which we put under a tree for shade.

Hi, Looking at the map, it looks like it would be a pretty nice hike to the beach. I would just grab a cab to go to the beach. I have walking issues, so that is why I would do that. Enjoy!!! Cheers

Between Coki and Brewers which is the better beach for being around locals, eating good food, clean beach and locals playing reggae music?
Thanks!

Coki has local food and drink, but didn't see or hear any reggae music.

We'll be staying in St. Thomas for 2 weeks in January. Does it make more sense to rent a vehicle or taxi around?

Are there restaurants and bars at coki beach?
Written 26 May 2019
Yes, they serve things like pizza, hamburgers, chicken and alcohol + beer.
They also rent chairs and umbrella's, we paid $20.00 usd for 2 lounge chairs and 1 umbrella. It's fun there, they have the music going and it gets really crowded if the cruise ships come in. So try and go on a day when the ships aren't docking. The front desk should be able to tell you when they come in.

Hello, We are heading there next week! What beaches do you recommend? Thank you!

I was largely un impressed with the beaches on St. Thomas but St. John was incredible. We took a ferry over there that took like 10 minutes or something and then rented a jeep. It was the best day we had on our trip for sure. Probably went to 5 or 6 beaches that were all amazing and most had very few people. The hiking on St. John was also amazing.
