Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I wasn't sure about coming here but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant is huge and doesn't hassle you or rip you off. In fact the bit of lunch e had was excellent and the beers were nice and cold. I swam right across the cenote and back around one edge. It was really impressive, but I was rather worried half way across that I had bitten off more than I could chew. Its a lot further than it looks...be warned.

We arrived just as it opened and decided not to do an adventure and just take a taxi to the Cenote. It was beautiful small cenote but deep enough I could not touch. The little fish gave a free foot cleaning and the water was perfection. Crystal clear and blue. They had bathrooms and a changing room which was just perfect. Would go back but when we left an hour later a few groups had shown up so early is the key.

This is the biggest and deepest cenote that I have ever seen. There's not a lot places to sit around the cenote, and since it's so deep you can't just hang around the edge. I'm glad that it was off season, because I'm sure it would be way too crowded there otherwise. It was only about $1.25 each to go into the park, so don't miss it.

Located about 5km from the town centre this is a popular tourist attraction in Bacalar.
To get here we got a taxi at a cost of 60 mexican peso. Entrance fee was 25 per person.
Although described as a cenote don’t expect shallow, turquoise coloured waters. It reminded me more of a crater lake and this is reflected in the centre depth which is a whopping 90m.
There is a restaurant on site and change rooms.
The cenote drops quite quickly so there is minimal shallow water to bath in. There is a rope and some buoys going to the middle you can hang off it like me you are heavy and sink. The water was nice and cool to swim in particularly once you get deeper.
A hot tip would be after you finish here to walk the 500m to cenote cocalitos which is a beach club of sorts on laguna bacalar. Combining the two consumes most of a day. Both are open on a Wednesday (on Wednesday the lagoon closes to all motorboats).

We spent about 2 hours here one afternoon and had a fantastic time. We had our own car and it was a simple drive with secure parking. It’s a large open cenote and we could not believe how comfortable and enjoyable the water temp was in December. There isn’t any lockers, so you have to keep your stuff close by, or leave inside your locked auto. Life vest for rent if you need it. Reasonable entrance fee of 25MXN

Minutes from the highway, this tiny private cenote offers a delicious breakfast or lunch with the stunning view of the water. The meal is complete with a dip in the water afterwards. The water temp is sublime, year around.

While the crystal-clear waters and unique setting are undeniably beautiful, my experience there had two distinct sides: initial nervousness due to the depth and ultimate enjoyment once I was equipped and submerged.
Thankfully, the staff at Cenote Azul ensured my safety and comfort. They provided me with a life jacket and explained the layout of the cenote, including the shallow and deep areas. This information, along with the life jacket, significantly eased my anxiety and allowed me to fully appreciate the experience.

Great place for a swim, the water is very clear and if sunny, you can spot couple of nice fresh water fish. Just put your stuff on the side and jump in. The restaurant is quite expensive though so be aware if that and eat something before you go.

Beautiful cenote. Very remote and it's a huge swimming hole. You can stay for an hour or the whole day. It has a nice restaurant and the breakfast choices are excellent. It also has shops to purchase souvenirs. Overall a really fun place to visit.

Great place but no where to save your items. As we walked in a man was reporting someone had taken his bag. There are no lockers so we left everything in the car and tipped the gentleman who helps you park as we left. We took awaterproof bag and in there took it with us swimming.
Life jackets are 50mxn to rent with 100mxn deposit or ID - the guy who was renting them was on the phone when I was trying to get one and he continued his phone call so don´t expect a wow service.
Don´t forget to use only biodegradable sunscreen and the entrance was 25mxn pp.
