My wide and I volunteered again for 2 weeks at the end of January and early February, and again we had a brilliant experience. Younger cubs this time, so learning to stimulate them to pee and poo was a first for me, and seeing them develop over the 2 weeks was fantastic. I've read other comments about canned hunting, and... We had the amazing opportunity to visit the day with the king and his children... Hayley welcomed us and she took us on a tour through the lion camps. We played with the cubs and made friends- not in person but now we can track all the news and glam on Facebook also.

I love animals and so I loved seeing all the animals here. However, when I asked the foreign volunteer what happens to all the lions that they keep breeding, she could not give me a reasonable answer. I have heard of people in the area that this place participates in the Canned Lion hunting trade. Keep in mind, that it... More

We were away for a family birthday and had a lovely time. There are a lot of animals, which is a bit alarming. We loved the smallest cubs the best. The guide was friendly and our rooms were well appointed. A bit dark indoors, but a great braai and deck area and we were even given firewood from reception.

This is an amazing place and the work they do here is fantastic the research has been going on for a long time and the captive breeding program amazing but as with all this the down side is the canned shooting I feel this is the downside of society today what do you do with so many lions they can't... My husband and I visited last year and I was thoroughly impressed with this place and their care of the animals. It was my 1st time to Africa and this was definitely a highlight. My husband and daughter had been there the previous year with a missions group and volunteered there for a week. The owner takes the care of... More

My wife and I volunteered at Boskoppie for the last couple of weeks in January 2016 having stayed as guests in February 2015. We were looked after brilliantly by Pieter who owns Boskoppie, and by Signe his partner who was running the tour and cub rearing side of things whilst we were there, and could not have felt more welcome... This place is fascinating! The owner raises only white lions, and they are huge. You can ride around among them. There are cubs eight weeks old that you can play with as well as juvenile lions. At dusk they all roar, which you will not forget!
