Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Price for entrance was 97 reals per person. For foreigners that maybe acceptable or even cheap, but for the Brazilians is way too expensive!
We gave up entering!
This price rise came after a company took over the management of the place.
It’s a shame preventing people to see a natural wonder because of price making the visit unaffordable for most Brazilians.
Shame!

Once you arrive the views are great, but I will probably never go back there. The last 20 km is a rocky road that takes nearly 2 hours to go through, shaking as hell. Unbelievable.

Aparados da Serra was created to protect Itaimbezinho, one of the most impressive canyons dissecting the plateau in the north of Rio Grande do Sul State. Later the Parque Nacional da Serra Geral was established to protect the other great canyons farther north, the Malacara, Churriado, and Fortaleza. Winter (June-August) is the best time to take in the spectacular canyon views, as there's less chance of fog. Once in Rio Grande do Sul, do not miss it!

We made a day trip to Aparados da Serra and it was worth it. There are two trails (1,5km and 6km) and we did both of them. I think, if one plans visiting the national park, he/she should definitely do both trails, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it. The canyons are really beautiful, but the trees and grasses cover the rocks.
There are no entrance fees anymore; it's based on donations.
It's recommended to go there with an SUV type of vehicle since the way to the top is quite bumpy (one needs about an hour for the ride to the top).

The views are amazing. We took a small path further up to get a better angle of the canyon and it was worth the effort. You also get rid of the noisy crowd. The road to the park ends up in a dirt/rock road which carries on for app 5 km. At the entrance of the park is the last place for the ladies to go for a leak. There are no facilities so you need to bring lots of water and sandwiches. There are also no trash cans. If you want to do the normal trail sport shoes are good else you need hiking boots. Have a poncho, wind breaker, hat, sun tan oil and mosquito repellant in the car. Oh yaeh don't forget your camera's!

I visited the park under heavy rain, so it was impossible to follow the trails into the park. We only went to see the Itaimbezinho trail, and the Fortaleza. Even though weather conditions were not ideal we had the occasion to see the fog coming on and going away, so seeing two or three rainfalls coming out of the misty air was fabulous.

Cannyon da Fortaleza, at the Parte Nacional dos Aparados da Serra, along with his brother Cannyon do Itaimbezinho are some if the greatest nature artwork.
Not very near to small Cambará town, and seems more far due to the terrible road to access.
However, in the past 20 years, I've been visiting the place several times.
Drive with patience, have a good chat with your friends or
family on the way, enjoy the high grasses and you'll arrive to and amazing place.
Really worth the torture of the trip
