Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a picturesque little harbour, flanked by two lovely beaches. There’s a free car park nearby and a short walk to the shops and cafes. A lovely place to visit

A snapshot of one part of Hopeman as we were just passing through. We'll be back, though as it was obvious this wee village with its golden sands, coastal walks and friendly inhabitants has so much to offer.

In an hour in the harbour area, we marvelled at the tidy port with its well-organised moorings for small boats and the preservation of history in the form of the old harbour crane, which began life far to the West in a Clyde port in 1859 and was brought to Hopeman by train in 1925, via Wick where it was a vital part of the herring industry.

The public toilets were well-kept; the sheer brightness of the Guides, Brownies and Rainbows' garden made us smile; and the views in every direction made us wish we could explore further.

The icing (cream) on the top was the Footprints Gallery, packed with local craft and artworks and with a very amusing way of telling the weather. We actually saw someone go in for a couple of ice creams and come out with a lovely picture.

A quick zip through a place with more to experience - and it's on our wish list. The ices were delicious too.

Hopeman harbour has 2 basins but only the inner basin is used for mooring and it has many leisure craft there. The outer basin has a small sandy beach which is used mainly for families and especially for paddling and I was told was good for learning water sports. Lovely walks nearby.
