Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place for a nice swim. You will need shoes to descend to the swimming area. There’s a swing you can enjoy over the smaller part of the fall .

The road out there was through some jungle and scenic. The guy at the parking lot gave us some moonshine and my guy thought it was some smooth stuff. Wear your bathing suit there because I thought there would be a changing room at the boulders and there isn’t. I loved the fresh water and the waterfalls. It’s really beautiful. You also need teva sandals to climb on the boulders.

What a great off the beaten path adventure. We'll worth the drive. Just drive up and pay the local $5 to park. They also have snacks and drinks if you want. 3min walk from there. Cold and refreshing if swimming but so much fun. If it has been raining, it may be slippery but we fortunately had a dry day.

Wear sturdy shoes that are OK for very slick surfaces, and be prepared to swim with them on. From where you park, $5, it’s about 4-5 minutes walk. Beautiful spot!

This place was amazing, we pulled up and we were able to park for 5 bucks at a local's house, they drove us up because I have bad legs and can't walk far. Where you park the car the owner makes fresh empanadas and sells sodas which were great because we were hungry and they were delicious. The waterfall itself is beautiful, and the people hanging out were very nice and friendly. I love talking to the locals. I cannot wait to go back again.

Worth the trip! Parking is at someone’s house, you pay him $5 and walk 2 mins to the waterfall. The parking people are very kind, and it is helpful if you speak Spanish. The falls have a little tricky path to walk down, but it is worth it. Cold water and a small rock to jump from

This was a highlight of our week in Puerto Rico! We were among very few tourists, mostly locals. There is a man offering $5 parking at his house just two minutes downhill from the entrance to the water, but from what I could tell, the limited parking at the top was free. There was an older, local man who is clearly passionate about the area showing everyone different ways to get closer to the waterfalls, where to jump, how to get to the petroglyphs (just very carefully climb the boulders down for a while on the left side and you'll run into them. We were here for HOURS and loved it so much.

This place was so beautiful but filled up fast. Parking was also difficult as the location is up some very steep hills and has no designated parking area. Lastly, navigation to the area requires a little bit of intuition. The GPS was not able to take us directly to the place but signage was helpful.

Google maps got us here in an hour from Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve - no issues with directions. It was mostly highway and then, like all the beautiful remote nature spots in Puerto Rico, the roads get smaller til they are one lane (but still used as two! lol), dirt, in a tropical jungle! Going up a dirt road hill at the end there was a house with a gate that said private property (maybe the local guy who normally charges $5 and lets you park in his yard?) and a cutout on left where 5-6 cars were parked. A spot had just opened, we took it. walked 2-3 min further up the hill and got a great view of charco el hippie from above! there were a few more cars pulled off on the side at the top (got a little wider) and road dead-ended on some concrete slabs.

Quick hike down with hubby (we are mid 50's) and 18&20 yr old sons. There were a bunch of locals playing music, eating/drinking, with 2 adorable dogs, plus some tourists. Everyone was very friendly - great vibe! My younger son and I love boulder hiking (wouldn't do in flip flops, had keen water sandals) so we climbed upstream to waterfall, and downstream - amazing scenery. All 4 of us did the cliff/rock jumping into the refreshing pool. The rope swing is still there (younger son did it) but the rope to swing out over pool and let go is gone from a storm per one of the locals (kids bummed - had seen on a video).

We were wrapping up to go, and then some locals started doing crazy jumps/dives off the jumping rock. Then some tourists who had been hesitant got up the nerve and did it. Everyone was cheering them on, clapping and whooping when they did - so much fun, stayed longer. We were there 1:30-4.

This is still part of the rainforest but on the southside, not the part you need reservations for where the main hiking trails are. It is insanely lush and beautiful.

Think there is an airbnb/rental place on the banks just downstream on the main pool with nice access to the river. Saw a google review about how perfect location was. We forgot bug spray and didn't have a problem but probably would have later in day and if we weren't constantly moving!

If you google it, there are some good videos online taken with drones.

This is a great find! Like the other reviews mentioned it is a little hard to navigate. We asked several locals along the way. Trying these coordinates may help: 18.247070 -65.786485. The roads are narrow & at times pretty steep. I do not advise going if you are not up for an adventure. We also saw a car with a broken window & we saw evidence of glass on the ground in several places that we figured this may be a commom problem, so take minimal valuables with you. We came prepared to leave nothing in the car & were fine. All the people swimming were friendly & helpful. The kids jumped & we watched other people climb higher. We spent about an hour & it was perfect! And water shoes are a good idea too!
