They turn the water on at 11.00 A.M. Samson tearing the Lion's jaws and water shooting straight up is wonderful to watch.

The Peterhof fountains are extraordinary, not only in their engineering water system design, but in the ornate use of gold. This particular fountain is the centerpiece of the collection of statues throughout the park and its expansive pools and manicured green space.

The centre piece of the grand fountain, the gold leaf of the statue gleems in in sun and the water cascading over forms a rainbow, truly beautiful.

Interesting fountain, working well and looking impressive, especially during the opening (10 or 11 AM, check at entrance, may vary). Listen to the guides tell it's history, especially during WW2.
