My husband and I enjoyed touring the Ascott House. Although only a few rooms are open to the public, it is worth seeing. The paintings, furniture and ceramics are wonderful. What is open for tourists: the outer hall, the hall room, the dining room, the common...More

Wow. These gardens are stunning beyond belief. From a tranquil lake surrounded by weeping willows and quiet contemplation of your surroundings to the hard landscaping of a slate installation, fountain and clever topiary, these gardens will blow your socks off! Masses to see, and each...More

The first things you notice on visiting the property are the notices - NO entry, NO going on the grass, NO photography, NO touching - all the restrictions I thought the modern National Trust were trying to abolish. The house is large - but few...More

Completed the Easter egg hunt over the easter weekend and the children had a wonderful time. The Gardens are amazing and wonder how 4 gardens manage to keep everything so well maintained. Parking facilities have been upgraded and improved however, the weekend rain made things...More

A great architectural example of the period. Externally beautiful but inside is a little bland. The grounds are the prize for this property, stunning views over Aylesbury Vale and lots of garden design and architecture.

This NT house is well worth visiting. The stafff and room guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. We were particularly interested in the paintings by many famous artists and in particular Stubbs. There is a considerable amount of Chinese pottery covering many dynasties. On our...More

Very disappointed, I went with a group of friends for lunch on a Tuesday before walking around the grounds. The cafe was busy at 1pm but service was very slow, it was at least 30 minutes before the food arrived in dribs & drabs! I...More

We've always enjoyed a visit to Ascott, especially at this time of the year. Unfortunately we were about a week early for the daffodils this time, but give it 7-10 days and they'll be amazing. We were relieved to see they had provided a larger...More
